He was brought on as a color analyst for Sunday Night Baseball with Shulman in 2016 along with Jessica Mendoza.

Boone made history by becoming the first MLB manager to achieve at least 100 victories in both of his seasons in charge.

Following the 2019 season, Boone was chosen as a finalist for the American League Manager of the Year award.

The COVID-19 pandemic forced the Yankees and the other 29 Major League Baseball teams to play a 60-game regular season.

During the 2021 season, Boone agreed to a three-year contract with a 2025 club option with the Yankees.
