Alexis Sanchez’s full name is Alexis Alejandro Sanchez. He was born in Tocopilla, Chile in the year 1988.

On 19 December, Alexis celebrates his birthday. As of 2021, is 33 years old. Alexis’s father’s name is Guillermo Soto Espinoza and his mother’s name is Martina Sanchez.

Likewise, his mother was a fisherwoman who was the only bread earner in the family. Similarly, his father was looking for a job when Alexis was born.

Talking about his siblings, he has 3 siblings. He has one brother named Humberto Sanchez and two sisters named Tamara Sanchez and Marjorie Sanchez.

After that, he went to Colegio Padre Hurtado college to complete his further education.

How did Alexis Sanchez start his Professional Career?

Talking about Alexis’s career, he was promoted to the senior team after joining Cobreloa in 2005. Besides that at the age of 16, he became the youngest player to play in the Copa Libertadores.

Alexis was a key player in his team’s first-ever Copa Sudamericana runner-up finish in 2006.  Likewise, he also won his first professional title that year.

In 2007, he was instrumental in his team’s 4-0 victory over ‘Caracas’ in the Copa Libertadores, scoring his first hat-trick.

After a few years with Udinese, Alexis joined Barcelona in 2011 and became the first Chilean player to play for the club.

However, due to injuries, he was unable to play for Barcelona in some major matches and his season ended with eight goals.

After recovering from all of his injuries, he began scoring goals, netting a hat-trick against Elche, and leading his team to victory.

But Barcelona had decided to let him go by then. In the same year, he was signed by Arsenal and he made his debut against Manchester City.

However, he secured a 3-0 victory for his team and scored his first goal for Arsenal on August 27, 2014.

By the end of the season, he was the only Arsenal player named to the PFA Team of the Year.

Despite being scoreless in the first ten Premier League matches of 2015-16, he became the only player to score a hat-trick in the Serie A, Premier League, and La Liga.

More about his career

In the 2016-17 season, he was named Player of the Season after scoring the game-winning goal against Chelsea in the FA Cup final.

The following year, he joined Manchester United, becoming the club’s first Chilean player. He has not been a success and the club has decided to loan him to the Serie A club Inter Milan.

Nevertheless, he was a member of the national team’s Under-20 team, which finished third at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in 2007.

Meanwhile, he also played in the 2014 World Cup and the 2015 Copa America. The team lost in the World Cup but won Copa America, Chile’s first major football title.

In the 2016 Copa America, Chile fought against Argentina in the finals and successfully defended their title. Luckily, Alexis Sanchez scored the game’s final goal.

Similarly, in the 2019 Copa America, he played well against China, Ecuador, and Colombia to help his teams qualify for the semi-finals.

Sadly, the team eventually lost to Peru by 3-0, and Brazil won the tournament.
