Alicia Vikander reveals that she suffered from a tormenting miscarriage prior to welcoming her 17-month-old son with her husband Michael. The 33-year-old actress opened up about her experience saying that now they have a baby but then it took a long time to get there.

“We have a child now, but it took us time,” the actress said in the interview that was released on Sunday, the actress reported to the UK Times

It must have been so relevant to the movie named “The Light Between Oceans” which was released in 2016, in which the couple played a role when they experience a miscarriage two times. The fictional show act matched the real-life one!!

“I tried to get pregnant for a while,” she further continued saying. “So I had tough times during lockdown [amid the coronavirus pandemic]. I struggled for a while. … For a while I didn’t think that I could get pregnant.”

She lost hope after her miscarriage, Alicia thought she could never be pregnant at a point. The miscarriage sounds quite painful and it must be devastating to experience it. The way Alicia played the role in the movie, she believes and recalls that now the movie gives “another meaning” to her life.

“The miscarriage was so extreme, painful to go through, and, of course, it made me recall making that film,” Vikander added. “That film has another meaning now.”

Vikander was holding up to this experience herself then later she decided to talk about it to the whole world. That must provide a sense of relief that a lot of girls/women might have faced similar experiences in their life. She gave a thought on going public with it or not and later decided to talk it out!!

“I kind of stopped and thought, ‘Am I going to talk about this?’” she said. “But so many women go through similar things.”

Nowadays Alicia and Michael are living with their 17-month-old son in Lisbon. Vikander resumed her job when the baby was just 3 months old. She recalls how intense was it to juggle the baby with work. It is very difficult for a working mother to follow her passion at work and also to manage the love of a child.

“It was intense,” she admitted of juggling a new baby with work. “Sometimes they came to the set just so he could see my face.”

Alicia was so busy with the work that Michael had to come to see her in the sets of Irma Vep. To balance work and life the couple planned to always have one parent beside the child no matter what. What can be a better way of parenting than this?

“We do every second job,” she explained. “One stays at home while the other works.I have my tiny family with me and that becomes home wherever you are,” Alicia said.

While juggling between work and the baby now they are working at a pace that is feasible for the family. At a point, she revealed also felt very lonely when she received success at just 20 years. She had friends who would talk to her which made her life less difficult.

She also said that in the public eye she was at a height of fame but no one saw how sad she was from the inside. Alicia said she doesn’t understand how can other celebrities hide the emotions they juggle in real life. It must be quite difficult to hold onto the fame, constantly juggling between acting and real life.

Besides this, the couple is known to keep secrets about their personal life. No one knew they were dating since 2014 until they married in 2017. They did not even reveal the name and sex of the baby due to their secretive nature.
