American basketball veteran Andre Ingram is presently a member of the NBA G-South League’s Bay Lakers. On April 10, 2022, he was presented with his follow-up Jason Collier Sportsmanship Award.

Lucious and Yvonne Ingram welcomed Andre Ingram into the world on November 19, 1985, in Richmond, Virginia.
Ingram has just one sibling, named Lucius. He used to play with his younger brother and has always been a fan of basketball.

Andre Ingram | Career in High School
Ingram went to Highland Springs High School, which is located in Highland Springs, Virginia. Andre helped his team win the Group AAA championship during his senior year.
In a similar vein, he averaged 22.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 49% of his three-point attempts throughout that season.
Andre was subsequently chosen as the Associated Press Group AAA Player of the Year for his division.
As a senior, Ingram was also chosen for the First Team All-Metro, First-Team All-State, and First-Team All-Central Region, and was the Capital District Player of the Year twice.
Andre Ingram | Career in College
Beginning with his first year of college, Ingram started every game for American University in 2003–04, helping the team finish sixth in the league.
Likewise, he became the first American to win Patriot League Freshman of the Year honors after that.
Andre tied for the second-best single-game three-point total in AU history on January 14, 2004, when he made eight three-pointers against Navy.
Additionally, he recorded a career-high 30 points against Lafayette on February 28 on a 10-of-19 shooting.
Similarly to that, Andre concluded his sophomore year as the second-leading scorer in the PL with 15.3 points.

Ingram opened the season against VCU with 38 points after winning PL Preseason Player of the Year.
He scored 20 points or more twice in two of his 28 games, and six times overall.
At the end of the season, the NBA coaches selected him for their all-district 4-second team. He was twice chosen as Patriot League Player of the Week in February 2005.
In addition, as a junior, he participated in 29 games and scored 12.0 points per game, helping his team for the third straight season.
He received second-team all-Patriot League honors at the season’s end.
Andre earned his second all-patriot league honor and finished sixth in the Patrol League as a senior as well.
Ingram led the team in scoring each of the team’s four years, and at the end of his collegiate career, he had 1,655 points, good for fifth place all-time in America’s scoring rankings.
Andre Ingram | Professional Life and Career
Ingram became the Utah Flash’s all-time leading scorer after they selected him on November 1st in the 2007 NBA Development League Draft.
Throughout his four seasons with the Flash, he finished third in steals, fourth in assists, and second in rebounds.
Andre participated in the 2010 NBA D-League All-Star festivities in Dallas and was honored with the Jason Coller sportsmanship award for his outstanding 2009–10 campaign.
On the court, Ingram also contributed, starting 49 of the team’s 50 contests and averaging 12.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.5 steals in 34.0 minutes per contest.
With 36 points or more on the night, Andre defeated Bakersfield in December 2009 104-99.
After the 2010–2011 seasons, Flash suspended Andre, leaving Ingram without a team for the 2011–2012 campaign.
D- Fenders from Los Angeles
Andre continued his basketball career with the Los Angeles D-Fender for the 2011–12 campaign. He joined the team on March 22, 2012.
Additionally, Ingram missed the 2012–2013 season and returned for the 2013–2014 campaign.
Andre participated in 45 games in the 2013–14 season, scoring 9.1 points, pulling down 3.2 rebounds, and dishing out 1.7 assists while helping the team win the west division.
Ingram missed the team’s first two months of the 2014–15 season once more before coming back on January 12, 2015.
He did, however, play for the D-Fenders for his second full season in 2015–16, where he rose to the position of D-League all-time 3-point leader.
Because of his mental health, the Fenders released him.
Melbourne Tigers
On October 18, 2016, Ingram signed a contract with the Perth Wildcats to play for the remainder of the 2016–17 NBL season.
After joining the Wildcats a week after arriving in Perth, Andre only played two games for them before requesting his release, citing mental health issues as the reason behind his sudden action.
South Bay Lakers / D-Fenders: Return
To complete the 2016–17 season, Ingram went back to the Los Angeles D-Fenders on March 6, 2017.
He joined the team once more for the 2017–18 campaign; they are now known as The South Bay Lakers.
Andre averaged 9.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists throughout 47 games for the South Bay Lakers.
California Lakers
On April 9, 2018, Ingram agreed to play for the Los Angeles Lakers in their final two games of the 2017–18 NBA season.
He made his NBA debut the following day, becoming the oldest American rookie in the league since 1964 with 19 points and four 3-pointers in a 105-99 loss to the Houston Rockets.

Ingram scored 19 points, the most by a Laker since Danny Finn scored 28 in 1953, and it was the most in a post-All-Star break debut in 50 years.
Likewise, in 35 minutes against the Los Angeles Clippers on April 11, he scored five points on 2-of-9 shooting, including 1 of 4 from outside the arc.
For the Third Time, South Bay
Andre completed his third spell with the South Bay Lakers in 2018–19.
Ingram also participated in his 402nd NBA G-League game in January 2019, cementing his position as the league’s all-time games played leader.
Back in Los Angeles
On March 11, 2019, Ingram signed a 10-day deal and made his second trip back to the Los Angeles Lakers.
With Brandon Ingram out for the remainder of the season due to injury, the Lakers’ roster also needed to be strengthened with the addition of Lonzo Ball.
With the South Bay Lakers for a fourth season
Andre paid his fourth return to the South Bay Lakers following the conclusion of his 10-day contract with Los Angeles for the 2019–20 campaign.
On February 7, 2020, Andre was struck with an injury that would end his season. His right pectoralis tendon tear, which occurred on January 22, never completely healed.
Moreover, in October 2020, Ingram was elected as the G-League Players Union’s inaugural president, commonly known as the Basketball Players Union (BPU).

On October 23, 2021, Ingram was officially added to the South Bay Lakers’ training camp roster, marking the start of his sixth season.
He was chosen again to serve as the NBA G League’s union president on December 19, 2021. He also won his second Jason Collier Sportsmanship Award on April 10, 2022.
