He was also the commissioner of the XFL and the NCAA’s former executive vice president for regulatory affairs. Oliver tried his hand at running for Congress and the law before leaving the United States, but both efforts were unsuccessful.

He, therefore, decided to move to Germany with his wife and 1-year-old son to build his professional football team. His father was the general manager of two World League of American Football teams at the time.

Likewise, Andrew worked out of Frankfurt, Germany, therefore Luck’s family was made up of Americans who lived abroad. After that, Luck attended the Frankfurt International School until she was four years old when her family moved to London.

To attend the American School there, Andrew spent a significant portion of his youth in London. Andrew had talked about how he believed every father would become the owner of a professional football team in Europe after playing professionally for as long back as he could remember.

In addition to learning German as a child, he also traveled to Europe to drink and eat, watch NFL games, visit museums, and draw stadiums. As we enter his school years, he used to instruct his non-American buddies about football during their break by drawing the specifics in their palms.

His upbringing may be summed up as organizing a birthday celebration for non-American friends, playing football while wearing a sweatshirt as a jersey, and re-watching his dad’s games. Likewise, Andrew holds American nationality.

Luck was rated a four-star prospect on Rivals.com at the same time that he had offers from the Virginia Cavaliers, Purdue Boilermakers, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Rice Owls, and Northwestern Wildcats.

He eventually settled on Stratford above them all, though, after Jim Harbaugh, the head coach, recruited him.

Professional, and NFL Career

Andrew was already making headlines as “the best quarterback since Peyton Manning,” the top draft prospect, and “the most NFL-ready of all the draft-eligible quarterback prospects” long before he began his career on then-professional grounds.

Indianapolis Colts

Andrew signed a four-year, $22 million contract with the Colts on July 19, 2012, after they announced on April 26th that they would make him their first-ever draft pick.

Ryan Grigson had chosen Luck as the first overall pick in the draft while serving as general manager of the Colts. Following Bobby Garrett, Jim Plunkett, and John Elway as the first quarterback prospects selected, he was the fourth quarterback.

Andrew Luck | Comeback

Luck made his comeback in 2018 after a 616-day absence, making his debut against the Cincinnati Bengals while the Colts were defeated. He did, however, complete 39 passes, which was a career-high.

Both of his losses in Weeks 2 and 3 were unexpected and drew attention from spectators and supporters who questioned his shoulder problem. His 40 completions against the Houston Texans in Week 4 were also career-high, but that game ended in a defeat.

Since Week 7 against the Buffalo Bills, Oakland Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, and New York Giants, the Colts have had five winning streaks after a losing streak that lasted until Week 6.

As a result, they had won nine out of 10 games to secure a Wild Card place before the end of the season, and Luck had 4,593 passing yards, 39 touchdown passes, and 15 interceptions.

The National Football League Comeback Player of the Year was given to him by the Pro Football Writers Association while he was also selected for his fourth Pro Bowl.
