Curtis attended a high school for soldiers. Apollo participated in several sports throughout high school.
His preferred sports included amateur wrestling, football, soccer, and track & field.
He used the possibility to play as a release and a means of escaping the military lifestyle. He began wrestling training in high school.

Because of his athletic build and weight training, his coach thought he was as strong as an entire nation.
He was indeed the strongest student in his high school. Consequently, he was given the moniker Uhaa Nation.

Professional Life and Career
After graduating from college, Uhaa was able to secure employment that allowed him to pay for his professional wrestling training.
He received instruction from Curtis “Mr.” Hughes at the Atlanta location of the World Wrestling Alliance 4 (WWA4) promotion training facility.
On August 17, 2009, Uhaa made his pro wrestling debut as Uhaa Nation. On the Georgian independent circuit, he spent the next year primarily working for small promoters.

In addition, he was able to travel to the Pro Wrestling Alliance (PWA) in Houston, Texas, and the Great Championship Wrestling organization in Phenix City, Alabama (GCW). He also frequently collaborated with AR Fox, another WWA4 trainee.
Dragon Gate and related entities
On September 9, 2011, Uhaa took part in a Dragon Gate USA promotion tryout seminar. Then he signed right away to make appearances for Dragon Gate USA. In addition, he registered for Dragon Gate, its parent promotion.
Likewise, he was connected to Full Impact Pro and Evolve, two of its close affiliates (FIP).
Later that day, he made his Dragon Gate USA debut. In a squash match, he was successful in defeating Aaron Draven.
The following day, at Untouchable 2011, he made his pay-per-view debut. He took up Brodie Lee’s open challenge and ultimately defeated him. Lee then departed the ringside vicinity.
The following day, Uhaa defeated Facade, Flip Kendrick, and Sugar Dunkerton in a four-way match. It happened at the 2011 pay-per-view for Way of the Ronin.
Late 2011
On October 29, he made his debut in the Full Impact Pro. In reality, he won the FIP Florida Heritage Championship by defeating Jake Manning.
Then he performed while following a plot. It was based on the idea that other Dragon Gate USA stables were attempting to entice him to join them.

On November 30, he made his debut with Dragon Gate in Japan. But regrettably, it happened at a gathering organized by the evil Blood Warriors crew.
2012
At the start of 2012, Uhaa left for America once more. On January 14, 2012, he made his Evolve debut. I triumphed over Pinkie Sanchez.
In March 2012, Cima was succeeded as Blood Warriors’ leader by Akira Tozawa. The group’s new moniker is Mad Blankey as a result.
Uhaa Nation accepted and joined the organization.
On March 29, he showed up for Mad Blankey for the first time. He defeated Ronin, defeating both Akira Tozawa and BxB Hulk from his stable (Chuck Taylor, Johnny Gargano, and Rich Swann).

He won the FIP Florida Heritage Championship by defeating Chasyn Rance.
On March 2, 2013, he returned to Dragon Gate and Japan. At the Open the Twin Gate Championship, he triumphed over Masaaki Mochizuki and Don Fujii alongside BxB Hulk.
On May 5, Shingo Takagi and Yamato defeated the pair to win the championship.

On May 1, Uhaa Nation was successfully pinned for the first time in a Dragon Gate ring. In the opening round of the 2013 King of Gate event, Jimmy Susumu eliminated him.
On July 28, 2013, Uhaa Nation lost his first pinfall match of the promotion while competing in the Dragon 2013. He was defeated by Anthony Nese on the fourth anniversary of Dragon Gate USA.
The FIP Florida Heritage Championship was then lost by Uhaa against Gran Akuma on August 9.
Due to his refusal to engage in a duel with Akira Tozawa, Mad Blankey had turned against the Uhaa Nation. Tozawa had just been expelled from the group.
Then Uhaa joined forces with Shingo Takagi and Tozawa.
WWE
In October 2014, Uhaa participated in a WWE tryout camp. Then a developmental contract was presented to him.
Since the last of 2014, it was claimed that Uhaa and WWE had reached an agreement on a contract.
Key roster (2016–present)
Crews made their official roster debut on April 4, 2016. Tyler Breeze was defeated on Raw. After that, he started a conflict with the Social Outcasts.
He was successful in eliminating every member of the stable, which led to a contest on April 18’s Raw.

Crews had promised that if any stable member could defeat him, he would join the Social Outcasts. Before the game, he said it.
On the other hand, if Crews won the match, Social Outcasts also pledged to leave him alone. It was stipulated in the contract.
The conflict was then resolved when Crews defeated Heath Slater. On the May 23 Raw, he suffered his first defeat while competing for the main roster.
In the Money in the Bank qualification match, he was defeated by Chris Jericho.
The defeat was attributed to Crews’ pre-game onslaught by Sheamus. After that, Crews and Sheamus got into a fight at Money in the Bank. This time, Apollo was triumphant.
Mid 2016
On July 19, 2016, he was chosen by the SmackDown brand in the WWE draft. On July 16, Crews triumphed in a contest.
As the top contender for Dean Ambrose’s WWE World Championship at SummerSlam, he qualified for a six-pack challenge.
Then, in the six-pack challenge, Dolph Ziggler triumphed over him. Additionally, it featured John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, and AJ Styles.

In the next week, he triumphed over Corbin and Kalisto. Therefore, he rose to the top of the WWE Intercontinental Championship field.
At SummerSlam on August 21, he received his title shot. But he was overpowered by The Mix.
In a subsequent encounter at the 2016 Tribute to the Troops, Crews defeated The Miz.
