Early Life, Education, and Family

American Actress, Ashley Tyler Ciminella was born in Los Angeles, California, on April 19, 1968. When she was four years old, her parents heard that she was being raised in Granada Hills by the country singer Naomi Judd and a marketing analyst.

It wasn’t until the 1980s that Ashley’s mother began making popular country music records. She was raised close to Wynonna, a country music star in her own right.

After their mother’s divorce, Ashley’s mother relocated Ashley and her sister to Kentucky, where she was raised. Judd attended 13 different schools in Tennessee, Lexington, and Ashland during this time.

Judd spent a brief period working as a model in Japan following her high school graduation before pursuing her studies at the University of Kentucky.

Ashley Judd’s debut role was in “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” which was a huge chance. She appeared in the first two seasons of the program. She eventually obtained a recurring role on the NBC drama “Sisters.”

Judd also made her film acting debut around this time, albeit in a minor capacity, in “Kuffs.” After that, she was offered the main role in the independent film “Ruby in Paradise.”

This led to other appearances in films including “Natural Born Killers,” “Smoke,” and “Heat.” In “Norma Jean and Marilyn,” she played Marilyn Monroe, which was a significant role in the 1990s.

A federal judge in California dismissed Judd’s sexual harassment claim against Weinstein in January 2019, but she was still able to continue her defamation claim that Weinstein had ruined her career.

Judd discussed the six-week abortion restriction implemented by Georgia in March 2019 at the Women in the World summit in April 2019. She claimed to have experienced three rapes and one pregnancy.

Humanitarian work

Judd has been engaged in humanitarian work that puts a focus on women’s rights, gender equality, and the sexual and reproductive health of women and girls for more than ten years.

She had visited the UNFPA’s development projects in India and Sri Lanka as well as its programs for women and girls affected by humanitarian crises in Jordan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Bangladesh.

While on tour with YouthAIDS, Judd also traveled to countries that are rife with sickness and poverty, such as Cambodia, Kenya, and Rwanda. Since then, she has changed her views and now supports campaigns to end poverty and increase global awareness.
