Criticisms
Last year, Brad Kaaya heard the criticism of his foul line, and he, like any quarterback, was not pleased.
We’ll talk about it later. First, here’s his assessment of how it currently appears:
Those two are “beating up the O-line” in workouts, according to Kaaya, leaving them “exhausted.” “Get after people, get after D-linemen, go attack defenses,” they want the line to do.
As a result, according to Kaaya, the line has gained a new perspective, as well as improved strength and conditioning.
Kyle Bellamy, the squad’s nutrition coach, is also credited with modifying eating habits and making the team look stronger and meaner.
Left tackle Trevor Darling, left guard Kc McDermott, center Nick Linder, right guard Danny Isidora, and right tackle Sunny Odogwu are likely to start fall camp as the front five, according to Kaaya.
What’s More
“What no one realizes is that a lot of those guys were young last year and we’re playing with injuries,” Kaaya explained.
Almost the entire – almost the entire offensive line played the entire season with some form of severe injury. The meniscuses and MCLs of the guys were torn.”
Kaaya mentioned how Odogwu, who was desperate to play in the Sun Bowl after having season-ending surgery to repair a ruptured MCL, battled through the injury in the regular-season finale versus Pittsburgh (Odogwu, when asked about it, said it “hurt terribly”).
Isidora “had a torn-up knee,” according to Kaaya. Linder was playing with “both his shoulders hurting,” he claimed.
And he had “whiplash” for the entire game versus Florida State. He was unable to move his neck. After the game, he had ice bags on his neck.
“The television doesn’t see it, but I do.”
“Generally healthy,” Kaaya remarked of the left side of the line (left tackle Darling and left guard McDermott).
They played through several injuries to keep me safe and help our offense. It means a lot to me.
This is how the entire critique appeared at first, and it quickly escalated.
