Early Career

Marchand, who has had a keen interest in hockey since he was a little child, grew up playing minor hockey on the Hammonds Plains.

He played AAA midget with the Dartmouth Subways as a junior before being selected in the second round of the 2004 QMJHL Midget Draft.

Over the course of four QMJHL seasons, he plays for Halifax, the Moncton Wildcats, and the Val-d’Or Foreurs.

Professional Career

Brad Marchand was chosen by the Boston Bruins with the 71st overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. On October 21, 2009, he faced up against the Nashville Predators in his debut NHL game.

On November 3, 2010, he beat Buffalo Sabres forward Jhonas Enroth to score his first NHL goal. Marchand established himself as a two-way player during the 2010–11 campaign.

Additionally, he scored 19 points over the course of 25 games in the Stanley Cup playoffs, which helped his team win the championship that year.

With Jeremy Roenick, he had the second-most goals in the NHL with eleven. It was confirmed that Marchand had extended his two-year deal with the Bruins on September 14, 2011.

Marchand played on the Bruins’ top line for the majority of the 2014–15 campaign, contributing 24 goals and 18 assists for a total of 42 points.

He scored 37 goals while appearing in 77 games the next season. He also extended it for an additional eight years and $49 million until the 2024–25 season.

With the third hat trick of his career, two assists, and a total of five points on March 6, 2018, Marchand defeated the Detroit Red Wings 6-5 at home in overtime.
