Bubba received a $7.5 million, three-year contract with a signing bonus. He felt compelled to play professional baseball during his collegiate athletic career at the University of Nebraska.

It was the largest money ever awarded to a high school athlete.

Then in 2013, Bubba played for the Lexington Legends, contributing to Sterling’s account with a.241 batting average, 13 home runs, and 63 RBIs in 125 games.

Blue Rocks Wilmington

He also participated in games for the Wilmington Blue Rocks. In 132 games, he hit.218 there with nine home runs and 54 RBIs.

Starling completed the whole 2015 season playing for both Wilmington and the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.

As he tested negative for COVID-19 in August 2020, Starling’s resumed baseball activities at the Royals’ secondary training facility in Kansas City, Kansas.
