Professional Career

Santos was an undrafted free agent who was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2014. On August 30, 2014, he was named the team’s kicker after overcoming seasoned pro-Ryan Succop.

Cairo became the first person ever born in Brazil to play in an NFL regular-season game when he kicked his first career field goal in a 26-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

He also became the Chiefs’ top scorer by making the most field goals by a rookie kicker.

Santos set a team record and ranked second all-time for the most field goals ever made in a single game on October 4, 2017, by kicking seven goals, including two over 50 yards.
