So, when he was 17, he went back to the Jr. Bulldogs and competed in Major Midget. Later, Talbot joined the Hamilton Red Wings of the Ontario Junior Hockey League for the 2004–2005 season.

He joined the University of Alabama’s college hockey team during his time in college.

Talbot was selected to the All-College Hockey America Second Team and chosen MVP for the 2009–2010 CHA Tournament season.

Brooklyn Rangers

Talbot’s outstanding start to his ice hockey career led to the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League signing him as a free agent on March 30, 2010.

During the 2010–2011 and 2011–2012 seasons of the American Hockey League, Talbot competed for Connecticut Whale.

Cam was added to the Rangers’ roster for the Stanley Cup playoffs after Connecticut was eliminated from the AHL playoffs.

After Martin Biron was demoted, the Rangers contacted Cam once more on October 15, 2013. He was therefore Henrik Lundqvist’s backup in the NHL.

He took on the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Rangers lost the game 2-1. The following game, on October 26, 2013, against the Detroit Red Wings, became Cam’s first victory.

Henrik Lundqvist experienced a blood vessel burst on his neck on February 3rd, 2015, and Cam Talbot was temporarily named the New York Rangers starting goaltender.

Talbot outperformed Henrik Lundqvist during this period, finishing the season with a superior GAA (2.21) and a higher save percentage (.926).

He was honored on April 6th, 2015, with the Steve McDonald Extra Effort Award for his outstanding efforts.

Alberta Oilers

On June 27, 2015, the Rangers traded Talbot to the Edmonton Oilers following the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Additionally, he battled Anders Nilsson for the top goaltender role in Edmonton during his first season with the Oilers.

His efforts weren’t in vain as a result. On January 17th, 2016, Cam agreed to a three-year, $12 million contract extension, and he was named Edmonton’s starting goaltender.

By surpassing Grant Fuhr’s previous record of 40 wins in a season with 41 wins on April 6, 2017, Talbot undoubtedly demonstrated his value and earned the nickname “Goalbuster.”

Cam assisted his club in making it to Game 7 of the Western Semifinals during the second season of the Pacific Division. The Oilers had not made the playoffs in ten years.

On October 4, 2017, Cam beat the Calgary Flames in the season opener with a shutout that included 27 saves.

Pennsylvania Flyers

On February 15th, 2019, the Oilers exchanged Talbot for Anthony Stolarz, a free agent from the 2018–19 season, going to the Philadelphia Flyers.

Canadian Flames

While playing for the Calgary Flames, Talbot gained notoriety as “Yes We Cam” Talbot.

On July 1st, 2019, Cam, a free agent, parted ways with the Flyers and agreed to a $2.75 million, one-year contract with the Calgary Flyers.
