Following years of training, Cameron represented his country at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Burgh then took part in the 2012 Olympic Games once more, winning the gold medal in the 100-meter breaststroke. At the 2016 Olympics, he also captured the silver medal.

Throughout his entire career, he also participated in several contests, such as the World Aquatic Championship.
