Carissa Kainani Moore is a competitive surfer from the United States who was born on August 27, 1992.
Besides, Carissa started surfing with her father when she was five years old, off the beaches of Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Similarly, Carissa’s father, Chris, was a renowned open-water swimmer who won multiple competitions.

Further, Moore chose Hawaii, the ocean, and her father when her parents divorced when she was ten years old since he resided closer to the water than her mother did.

Moore won eleven national titles as an amateur and became an immediate challenge to Stephanie Gilmore‘s supremacy on the Championship Tour when she debuted in 2010.

Also, Carissa won two races in her first season, bringing a paradigm-shifting supply of power surfing to the women’s circuit.

Similarly, While Carissa finished third in the world that year, she came back even better the following year, winning three events to win her first World Title and end Gilmore’s four-year winning run.

Further, Between 2010 and 2015, Steph & Carissa competed for World Titles three times, passing the trophy back and forth.

In addition, Carissa endured a (relative) career dip in 2017 after winning only one event & ended the year at World No. 5, the lowest place of her amazing career.

Again, Moore returned with vigor in 2018, moving back to No. 3 in the rankings with two first-place results, one at the inaugural Surf Ranch Pro and the other in Maui.

Further, Carissa conquered the start of the 2021 CT after missing a year due to the virus and headed to the Tokyo Olympic Games as the Gold Medal favorite.

And, Carissa’s triumph there cements her reputation as one of the sport’s all-time greats.

Moore wedded her long-term boyfriend, Luke Untermann, in a stunning outdoor ceremony in Hawaii in December 2017.
