Chad Javon Johnson was born in Miami, Florida, on January 9, 1978. His mother Paula Johnson and father Sam Brown welcomed him into the world.
Johnson also has a brother named Sam Brown Jr. and two sisters named Syleena Johnson and Chinita Johnson. Chad’s mother abandoned him at his grandmother’s house when he was five years old.

In 2014, Johnson took part in five regular-season CFL games. However, because of persistent ailments, he was virtually inactive for most games.

Chad turned himself into the courthouse. Ultimately, he was released after posting a $1,000 bond. After 20 days, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail for breaking the terms of his probation.
