Injury

He was officially placed on the injured reserve on 30th November 2009. He appeared in all sixteen games of the 2010 season before undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on 3rd January 2011.

He played only five games during the 2011 season. Meanwhile, he broke Jerry Smith’s Week 1 record of 421 receptions against the New York Giants and became the Washington Redskins’ all-time leader in tight end receptions with 422 catches.

He filled in for Darrel Young and Mike Sellers who were both injured in Week 3rd against the Dallas Cowboys. Later on, he broke his finger against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6.

Furthermore, he was formally placed on injured reserve after his knee was examined again by his doctor on 25th October 2011. Unfortunately,  he was released by the Redskins on 28th August 2012.
