The Australian actor Chris Hemsworth recently opened up about him having a high chance of developing Alzheimer’s disease. It is a disease where a type of dementia that progressively causes memory loss.
After knowing a genetic predisposition to Alzheimer’s disease, he is taking a break from the entertainment industry. In one of the episodes of his docuseries “Limitless,” he discovered that he carries two copies of the APOE4 gene.

Chris Hemsworth revealed on Friday that he carries two genes. Therefore, it massively increases his risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease compared to the average person.
However, according to neurologists that do not necessarily cause alarm. In the fifth episode of the docu-series, Dr. Peter Attia revealed his condition of carrying two genes.
In the two copies of the APOE4 gene, one is from his mom while another is from his dad. According to Dr. Corinne Pettigrew, only 2 to 3 percent of people have both copies of the gene.

The Actor Is Taking a Break From The Industry
The Australian actor Chris Hemsworth has announced that he is taking a break from the entertainment industry for now.
After finding out about his health, Hemsworth realized how his forced to think about his mortality. He also added that he had been “slapping another movie on top of another movie.”
The realization triggered something in the actor due to which he wants to take some time off. As per the Deadline, he has already finished the shoot of Extraction 2 and the Mad Max spinoff Furiosa.
Hemsworth made it clear he didn’t want to “manipulate” or “overdramatize” what he had learned. The only thing that he has received is just a cause for concern and not a hard diagnosis.
Nevertheless, after the revelation, the actor wants people to learn from it and take preventive steps beforehand.
