Chris eventually accumulated a record of four interceptions, 30 pass defenses, 10 sacks, 13 forced fumbles, and 17 fumble recoveries by the time he finished his career with the Lions.

Spielman was subsequently traded to the Buffalo Bills, where he played for two seasons. Chris performed admirably for the Bills beginning in 1996, leading the team with 206 tackles.

Sadly, a neck injury prevented him from fully participating in the team’s second season.

The Ohio native’s wife was later given a breast cancer diagnosis the following season. Spielman consequently stopped playing the game to help his wife.

Chris came back a year later and signed with the Cleveland Browns.

But sadly, he continued to experience neck pain throughout the entire season. Chris thus formally left the NFL after 11 years of service at the conclusion of the 1999 season.
