Early Life, Childhood, and Education

Retired Professional Golfer, Colt Knost was born on 26 June 1985, in Garrettsville, Ohio.

Knost is the beloved son of Luann Knost and her late father, Don Paul.

Sadly, Colt’s father died in a vehicle accident when he was 19 months old, therefore he doesn’t know who he is.

Luann was a golfer as well, but she never pursued it as a career. So when little Colt began to show an interest in golf, his mother was overjoyed.

He was one of just two players in the United States Golf Association to receive three sanctions after that.

In the end, he won the US Amateur by a score of 2 & 1 over Michael Thompson.

In the same year, he was given the unique opportunity to represent the United States at the 2007 Walker Cup, where he went 2-0-2. (W-L-H).

The brilliant golfer first headed to the licensing department to get his PGA Tour card for the upcoming season. Unfortunately, his T-85 finish was insufficient.

Obstacles

Colt finished sixth on the money list and earned his first PGA Tour card.

Knost only made 11 of the 24 cuts, finishing 193rd on the money list and heading on a cross-country trip the next year.

Knost’s situation is serious at the time, but as the light at the end of the tunnel, he was able to reclaim his PGA Tour card.

In 2012 and 2013, Colt struggled to keep his PGA Tour card. As a result, he returned to the web.com Tour again.

Knost didn’t want to stay on the web.com circuit, so he fought extremely hard to return to the PGA Tour in 2015.

He was able to re-enter the circuit in 2015, proving that hard effort trumps talent and luck. Colt improved his rating that year and was able to extend his tour card for another year.

Colt missed the cut in the Waste Management Phoenix Open in 2020, hence he announced his retirement from the game.

Career after Retirement

Knost was clearly annoyed by the obstacles and desired a more relaxed existence. He obviously desired to retire at a young age for this reason.

Colt wanted to do other things, according to a former golfer, but he couldn’t because he had to be so focused in practice.

Colt now co-hosts the Golf.com podcast “GOLFs Subpar” with Drew Stoltz, another former professional golfer.

Both former players ran the show effectively for a year and are looking forward to year two.

Colt and Drew are happy and satisfied with their work. Knost couldn’t believe how well his podcast had been received.

Net Worth, Salary, Earnings

His previous source of income was golf, but he is now looking for new opportunities.

He won $420,000 in prize money in 2016. His career earnings totaled $4 million by the time he retired at the age of 34.

He did not make a lot of money in college prior to his professional job. As a result, his college earnings may be insignificant.
