Who is Dana White? Early Life and Childhood
Dana White was born in Manchester, Connecticut, on July 28, 1969, to June White (mother) and Dana White Sr.
He grew up learning to appreciate the values of both cultures because his father is American and his mother is Irish. He and his sister Kelly were raised by his mother and his mother’s family.
White had an early interest in boxing and began boxing at the age of seventeen. White dropped out of two colleges in their first semesters, Quincy College and UMass Boston.

Dana met Bob Meyrowitz while working as a manager for Ortiz and Liddell. Bob was the founder of Semaphore Entertainment Group, the parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
When White learned that Bob was planning to sell the UFC, he contacted his childhood friend Lorenzo Fertitta right away. Lorenzo was a Station Casinos co-founder whose main goal was to persuade Fertitta to buy UFC.

Dana was instrumental in obtaining approval from the Nevada State Athletic Commission as well as recognition as a sport from all of the major state athletic boards.
Finally, in January 2001, Lorenzo and his brother Frank bought UFC and named Dana president.
However, UFC was just a name with no brand value at the time. Because the previous owners were bankrupt, they decided to sell the company for $2 million to make a profit.
