Gallinari and Gilgeous-Alexander were traded by the Clippers to the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2019 in exchange for MVP candidate Paul George and five first-round choices.

The Thunder were able to regroup after several heartbreaking playoff eliminations thanks to the transfer of Russell Westbrook to Houston in exchange for Chris Paul.

Gallinari, who played in 55 of the team’s 64 games this season and averaged 19.2 points per game, benefited from the new start as well.
