College Career

Danny received a full athletic scholarship to Chadron State after graduating from high school in 2004. During his freshman year of college, he delivered an outstanding performance.

Danny carried the football 278 times for 1,769 yards, averaging 6.4 yards per carry, and 21 touchdowns in his sophomore season. Because of his performance, he became an important member of the team.

In addition, Danny established a new all-division single-season rushing record with 2,740 yards. He led the team to the NCAA Division II playoffs the same year.

Danny was nominated for the Harlon Hill Trophy during his college football career, which he won in 2006 and 2007.

Danny majored in math at Chadron State, despite all of his records and impressive games.

Professional Career

Despite a strong and incredible college football performance, Danny went undrafted in the NFL in 2008. However, he was signed by the New York Jets just before the draft ended.

The New York Jets

Danny was badly hurt after joining the Jets and had to sit out the first season. He did, however, get another chance to play in the second season. Despite his outstanding performance, he was decided to release by the Jets on September 14, 2010.

New England Patriots

Woodhead was released by the Jets on September 18, 2010, and agreed to sign with the New England Patriots.

Woodhead made his New England debut on September 26, the same year. While playing for the Patriots, Danny had the opportunity to demonstrate his true potential. Furthermore, He played for three seasons and was a reliable performer.

Woodhead successfully completed his final season with the Patriots with 76 carries for 301 yards and four touchdowns, as well as 40 receptions for 446 yards and three touchdowns. The Patriots released him later that year.

San Diego Chargers

Danny Woodhead agreed to a two-year, $3.5 million contract with the San Diego Chargers on March 15, 2013.

Danny later suffered numerous injuries, including a leg and ankle injury and a broken Fabula in 2014.

Furthermore, due to other injuries, he was unable to play the remaining seasons properly.

Baltimore Ravens

Woodhead signed a 3-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens on March 9, 2017. Despite his desire for a fresh start, injuries followed him.

Finally, after suffering injuries and being unable to play, Danny decided to call it quits after ten years of football on March 17, 2018.
