Further, David departed the Hawks in 1999 to join Kinder Bologna of the Italian League. Moreover, David signed a multi-year contract with Bologna and helped them win the Italian Cup.

Again, The Atlanta Hawks selected David 37th overall in the 2002 NBA draft in June 2002. Additionally, The next squad David joined with was Montepaschi Siena for the 2003-2004 season.


Andersen traveled to Russia in 2004 and signed a two-year contract with CSKA Moscow of the Russian Basketball Super League.

Unfortunately, David suffered a dislocated ankle and a fractured fibula and had to return to his native country of Australia for surgery in 2005-2006.

Further, Specialist therapy and rehabilitation aided his quick recovery, and David returned to Moscow to re-sign a contract with CSKA Moscow. Moreover, In 2007-2008, David helped the squad win the Russian Super League and the Euro League championship.


David opted to play for NBA clubs for two years after playing in several country leagues. Similarly, The Atlanta Hawks selected David in the first round on July 14th, 2009.

Later, the Hawks moved David to the Houston Rockets in return for future draft picks and monetary considerations, and he agreed to terms with the Rockets on a multi-year contract.

Again, On November 28th, 2010, David was dealt to the New Orleans Hornets along with Marcus Banks and Jarrett Jack.

France & Australia

Andersen played for many clubs and spent seven years in France and Australia. Similarly, David joined SIG Strasbourg and ASVEL Basket of the French LNB Pro A in 2013-2014. ASVEL Basket was grateful to Andersen for helping them win the 2015-2016 title.

Further, On July 16th, 2016, David signed a two-year contract with Melbourne United and was designated, captain. Unfortunately, David was sidelined for six weeks due to a knee injury.
