The famous British pop star, Dua Lipa received her Albanian citizenship from Albania’s president on Sunday!
Finally, the day has come. Dua Lipa made everyone proud through her music and now she is granted Albanian citizenship. Dua Lipa originally comes from Albania and at present, she received her citizenship.
The president of Albania said that the role of the artist is so famous internationally, that she is spreading Albanian fame all over the world through her music.
The president of Albania, Bajram Begaj said that Dua was granted citizenship on the independence day of Albania. It was the 110th anniversary of independence from the Ottoman Empire.
The 27-year-old Dua was paid respect on that day and the president also mentions about being an honor to do so. Dua has made Albania famous on an international platform and she deserves it.
While giving an oath for her citizenship at Tirana city hall, Dua said that she will be Albanian with appears too. Later on that day, she added an Instagram post thanking the president and Mayor of Albania.

Going back to history, Dua was born in 1995 in London. Her parents Anesa and Dukagjin migrated from Kosovo, Albania. Originally, they were Albanian but then since she was born in London, she had British citizenship. Her passion for music grew when she was just 5 years old.
She was very much inspired by her father, who was also a singer and guitarist of a rock band. Dua following in the steps of her father, started posting videos on Youtube when she was just 14 years old. Her journey of becoming a British pop sensation started through the Youtube platform only.

Later she also released her first debut album in 2017. Her journey of singing began in childhood but then she was recognized in 2017. Then later in the year 2019, she won her first Grammy Award for a best new artist.

She later then collaborated with her father and co-founded a foundation named “Sunny Hill Foundation”. It was established in 2016 to raise some money for the concerts. The foundation held concerts in Kosovo to help people with difficult finances.
Her good work in music and also being so helpful to the citizens of Albania made her recognized back in her hometown.
Even the president of Albania recognized her good heart due to which they granted her citizenship. Dua was very profound with the experience of getting such acceptance and love from her people. HARD WORK PAID OFF!
The artist then went on to click her passport picture and then she gave her fingerprint. She signed an application for an identity card and passport. She was very proud that finally she was recognized by her own people.
