Harmon was also chosen by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, 91st overall. He was the Patriots’ second defensive back pick that year, behind Logan Ryan.

Because they hadn’t planned on him being chosen, many people were surprised by his selection. ESPN and NFL Network did not even air his high school highlights since they did not anticipate his draft.

 Debut with the Patriots

In his Patriots debut against the New York Jets, Harmon made one tackle that helped the team win 13-10. Duron deflected a ball, picked off Ben Roethlisberger, and had four total stops in Week 9.

After that, Harmon made his first professional start on November 18, 2013, taking Steve Gregory’s spot. After then, Duron kept breaking records and improved with every game.

In the end, he finished with three stars, 31 total tackles, four pass deflections, and two in 15 games during his debut season.

In a similar vein, Harmon’s 2014 campaign got off to a strong start. He recorded a season-high three combined tackles against the Buffalo Bills in a 37-22 victory.
