Sir Elton John CH CBE, is an English musician who also plays the piano, composes music, and is a philanthropist.

John has had a long and successful solo career, releasing 31 albums since 1969, earning the nickname “Rocket Man” after his hit song of the same name from 1972.

His seemingly unattainable achievements include seven consecutive US No. 1 albums, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10, four No. 2, and nine No. 1 songs. He was on the Billboard Hot 100 with at least one song every year for 31 years, from 1970 to 2000.

Childhood, Early Life, Education

Elton John was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on March 25, 1947, in Pinner, Middlesex, England, to Stanley Dwight and Sheila Eileen.

He received his schooling at Pinner Wood Junior School, Reddiford School, and Pinner County Grammar School. But he stopped going to school before the A-Level exams in order to concentrate on his musical career.

He learned to play the piano at a young age, and at the age of 11, the Royal Academy of Music gave him a junior scholarship.

He started writing songs at a young age because of his talent. Elton attended the Royal Academy of Music in London for five years.

How did Elton John start his Career?

Elton John started out as a weekend piano player at a bar. Later, he started a band with friends, worked for a song publishing company, and started playing solo in hotels. In 1962, he started the band Bluesology.

In 1967, he collaborated with lyricist Bernie Taupin. To match the latter’s lyrics, he wrote the music. The historic collaboration continues today as a result. The title of the two’s first song was “Scarecrow.”

In the interim, Dwight changed his name to Elton John in homage to the Bluesology band members.

DJM Records engaged Elton John and Taupin as successful staff composers in 1968. For a variety of musicians and singers, they were writing and writing songs.

They started off with straightforward music and lyrics before progressing to more challenging styles.

The same year he received his major break as a singer, Elton John published his debut album, “Empty Sky.”

He immediately followed it up with the release of the album “Elton John” in April 1970. His debut album gained popularity immediately, reaching its apex at position four on the US Billboard 200 and five on the UK Albums Chart.

In Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, six of his albums were listed. Three of his albums from this time period scored five stars on Allmusic.

John had numerous Grammy Award nominations and five victories in various categories.

He also won a Tony Award in 2000 for Best Original Music Score for “Aida.” He has also won five Brit Awards. In 2013, John earned the first Brits Icon award.

Both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame inducted him. Elton John was given the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1995. (CBE).
