After the surgery, she lost her ability to speak, aphasia set in, and she felt that her acting career was ended.
In his lowest moments, Clarke admitted, “I wanted to stop living,” adding, “I begged the medical staff to let me die.”
She also admitted, “I was often so woozy, so weak, that I thought I was going to die.”
Nevertheless, she recovered sufficiently to resume filming Season 2 of Game of Thrones.
2013 saw the surgical treatment of Clarke’s second aneurysm. She underwent brain surgery in 2013 while appearing in a play in New York to treat a second aneurysm on the opposite side of her brain.
She had to have her skull opened up because this procedure got much more invasive.
“I looked as though I had been through a war more horrific than any Daenerys experienced,” stated Clarke.
