Upper School

Oluokun was a student at John Burroughs School. His first love was basketball. He didn’t start taking an interest in football until his junior year, though.

However, Oluokun participated in soccer before other sports.

Because there were only 26 players total on the football team, Oluokon alternated between playing wide receiver and defensive end.

In total, Foyesade earned 8 varsity letters in football and basketball.

During his senior year of high school, Oluokun was named to the first teams for all-league, all-district, and all-state. In basketball, he was also named to the all-league and all-district teams.


After universities exhibited an interest in Oluokun, his parents were committed to his education and didn’t want to send him to a place that didn’t value academics.

Given his physical strength and intellectual position, he was destined to play in Ivy School leagues.

Foyesade earned a 3.8 GPA and a 30 on his act to graduate from high school.

Oluokun concentrated his search at Yale, Harvard, and Pennsylvania to achieve intellectual and athletic excellence.

He first went to the basketball camp at Yale, and a week later he went to the football camp. He later made a commitment to the Yale Bulldogs on July 30, 2013.


During his four years at Yale, he participated in 42 games while compiling 271 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and 4 interceptions.

Oluokun was selected for the Ivy League second team during his senior year.

Professional Life and Career

He was not granted admission to the NFL combine. But later, on Yale’s Pro Day on March 8, 2018, he completed all of the combined drills.

He completed the shuttle run in 4.12 seconds and the 40-yard sprint in 4.48.

In the shuttle runs at the combine, Oluokun would have placed second among linebackers, but sixth in the 40-yard sprint. He performed 18 reps of the bench press as well.

After reaching 37 inches in the vertical jump, he also made a 10-foot leap in the wide jump.

The start of the journey

The Atlanta Falcons later selected Foyesade Oluokun in the 2018 NFL Draft. He was picked 200th overall in the sixth round of the draft.

Oluokon came to the Falcons’ training camp as a replacement linebacker and member of the special teams.

In his Falcons season debut against the Philadelphia Eagles, Oluokun made one tackle. Later, in week 6, he started for the first time and had a total of five tackles.

In his first season, Foyesade made 89 (50 solos) tackles while playing in 16 games with 7 starts. Moreover, he ranked fourth in Atlanta Falcon among rookie tacklers.

Oluokun asserted that he would have been interested in financial management because he graduated from Yale with a degree in economics if football hadn’t worked out for him.
