Lindor attended Montverde Academy, a private school in Florida. He used to play and train baseball throughout those times.

He was also awarded a full scholarship to play baseball at Florida State University. In the first round of the 2011 MLB draft, the Cleveland Indians selected him.

Minor Leagues

Lindor eventually signed with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers to play professional baseball.

In the 2011 New York-Penn League season, he was a member of the team. He played five games in the meantime.

The Lake County Captains of the Class A Midwest League were his next stop. In addition, he batted.257 for them, with six home runs and 42 RBIs.

At the time, Baseball America rated Lindor as the Indians’ #1 prospect. In addition, he was a member of the Carolina Mudcats in 2013.

The squad was part of the Carolina League’s Class A Advanced division. Lindor did the same thing. In 104 games, he averaged 307 hits, two home runs, and 34 RBIs.

Until the 2014 season, the Indians had Lindor assigned to various minor league teams.

He batted.313 with 12 home runs and 51 RBIs in his first season.

World Series of Baseball

Lindon’s records and recognition grew in the next season. He also batted.301 and had 15 home runs and 78 RBIs in 2016.

Similarly, He also holds the record for the most multi-hit games by a player under the age of 23 (seven). He became the youngest Cleveland batter with six World Series hits once more.

Baseball World Series

Lindor also took part in the World Baseball Classic in 2017. This time, he was on the Puerto Rican team. The team earned a perfect 3-0 record in Pool D.

Lindor was also named the pool’s Most Valuable Player. In the title game, however, the team was defeated by the United States.

In the first round, Lindor batted.455 on average with two home runs and four RBIs. He was also named to the 2017 WBC All-Star squad.

Titles and accomplishments

Lindor won the Platinum Glove Award in the American League in 2016. In addition, he owns Golden Glove and Silver Slugger awards for a shortstop.

History of Injuries

Francisco has luckily avoided numerous injuries during his brief MLB career. He has only missed the first 18 games of the Cleveland Indians’ 2019 season due to a calf strain and ankle sprain.

Lindor also strained his right calf on February 6, 2019, and sprained his left ankle on March 26, 2019, while running the bases in an intrasquad game in Goodyear, Arizona.

With the right treatment, he recovered quickly and is back in the game.
