His next move was to enroll in Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Virginia, to make up for the government’s failing grade. He eventually began competing in the Amateur Athletic Union league.
Then, his commitment and perseverance helped him sufficiently. Kurtis Townsend, an assistant coach at Kansas, saw his talent and love for basketball.
The University of Kansas extended him a scholarship offer, and he would join the Jayhawks as their starting point guard there.
Frank Mason | Career in College
With an average of 5.5 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game as a rookie, he had a fantastic performance in his game.
Frank made 41.7 percent of his shots from the field, 32.7 percent of his three-point attempts, and 66.2 percent of his free throw attempts.
