A €13.5 million buyout option at the end of the season was also included in the agreement. While on loan, Fredy only participated in six games.
Inter Milan paid €11 million ($11.35 million) to permanently sign Guarin despite his sparse playing time. On May 17, 2012, the modification was also made official.
