Union stated in a 2014 interview that she might have hurried into the relationship for the wrong reasons. She claimed that throughout her twenties, all she cared about was receiving the ring.

Union later said that she spent much of her marriage agitated and anxious rather than pleased. However, she also believed at the time that the guys in her life were just men.

Dwyane Wade’s Thoughts on Gabrielle Union’s Marriage

Dwyane and Gabrielle have been married for six years. They have always been open about the fact that this is their second marriage.

The couple didn’t do it right in their first marriage, according to Dwyane, but they learned what it needed to keep a relationship going.

“There is another way,” he continued, “to be more equitable and collaborative.” We listen, we humble ourselves, and we meet in the center.”

Dwyane Wade also stated, “There are times in this relationship when I need to take a step back, when I need to take the lead, and when we need to work together. I also know when to keep my mouth shut!”

What brought Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union together?

In 2007, Wade and Union initially met at a Super Bowl party. Dwyane was still married to his ex-wife at the time. Union, on the other hand, had recently divorced her ex-husband, former NFL player Chris Howard.

She felt she’d never end up with him after their first meeting, and his resume gave her little reason to believe they’d have a long-term relationship.

She scarcely recalled Dwyane at the party because he didn’t drink, whereas Union and her friends enjoyed themselves. Despite this, the two remained in touch and developed a connection over time.

The pair married in January of 2012. Essence Magazine published a cover story about them. However, due to time constraints and schedules, they had a brief separation in 2013.

Zaya, Zaire (Wade’s first marriage), Xavier (Wade’s ex-girlfriend), and Dave are the other children they are raising (his nephew).

The couple is quite busy with their four children as well as their professional pursuits. However, they have successfully balanced their professional and home lives. They’re just as happy as ever, and they’re a stunning couple.

The Surrogacy Experience

Union’s doctor, Kelly Baek, a reproductive endocrinologist in Los Angeles, told her in 2016 that surrogacy was her best option for a healthy kid. Union was heartbroken at not having had the experience of getting pregnant.

She desired to watch her body expand to accommodate the tiny marvel within her. She also wanted to have the experience of being openly pregnant.

Union had been diagnosed with adenomyosis and had had so many miscarriages that she couldn’t keep track. Finally, she became desperate and depressed enough to consider taking Lupron, a drug that reduces adenomyosis.

However, Lupron’s adverse effects are terrible, since she may endure early menopause and easily shatter bones. Dwyane, on the other hand, was not prepared to witness his wife in such distress.

Similarly, Dwyane merely wanted things to be right between them because their relationship was already deteriorating, so he convinced her to go through surrogacy.

Dwyane had a baby with another woman when they were on break in 2013. Their love was crumbling, and she was heartbroken. The pair eventually ironed out their disagreements.
