Early Career

Rupp’s early professional career began in 2003. Since attending Central Catholic High School in Oregon, Rupp has been interested in soccer. Alberto Salazar, a legendary American marathoner, was impressed by him later.

Alberto guided him as a result, and he achieved great success in high school. During his high school career, he won the individual 1500 and 3000 m titles in track and field.

Additionally, two cross-country state championships in Oregon are included in this. In the following year, Rupp ran in the 2003 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships. Galen and Gerry Lindgren both set records at the Stanford Cardinal Invitational.

The 5000-meter record was also an American high school record for 40 years. He won the gold medal in junior athletics at the 2003 Pan American Championships.

Professional Career

Rupp made it clear in 2009 that he had consistently arrived for workouts like a pro. On the other hand, Michael Johnson acted as his agent. Rupp placed eighth in the 10,000-meter run that same year.

However, Rupp fell 3 to 20 seconds short of rivals like Chris Solinsky and Meb Keflezighi.

After two months, Rupp bounced back and retained the 2010 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships title. Rupp then carried on improving and established a record on the 2010 IAAF Diamond League circuit.

Nationals and the Olympics

Similar to how Rupp demonstrated his speed at the New York City Half Marathon, he took part in the Great Edinburgh Cross Country. He was then listed as the third-fastest American by Rupp.

Rupp continued to hold the top spot in the 5000-meter race and the 10,000-meter national championship.

He won the USATF Classic event back-to-back and distinguished himself as a fit American by running the 5000 meters in less than 13 minutes.
