Gauthier Grumier has won five team world championships and three European team championships. He also won the European individual championship in 2015.

Early Life and Family

Gauthier Grumier was born in Nevers (Nièvre) France on May 29, 1984. The French fencing master learned the sport from his father. However, no names or detailed information about his family have been released.

Similar to this, Grumier brought home a gold medal for France in the men’s team epee fencing competition. With Yannick Borel, Daniel Jerent, and Jean-Michel Lucenay, he formed a partnership.

That year, Italy took home the silver medal. In the same way, Hungary won the bronze medal in the men’s team epee competition that year.

Gauthier also took home a bronze medal in the men’s individual epee fencing competition.

Geza Imre from Hungary won the gold and Sangyong Park from South Korea took home the silver for the competition.

European Championships

At the 2003 European Fencing Championship in Bourges, France, Gauthier’s men’s fencing team took first place and a gold medal.

At the 2009 European Fencing Championship in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Grumier also took home a bronze medal for men’s individual epee.

In addition, at the 2011 European Fencing Championship in Sheffield, United Kingdom, he took home a gold medal for the men’s team.

At the 2015 European Fencing Championship in Montreux, Switzerland, he later won two medals.

The fencer also took home two gold medals in fencing for men’s team epee and men’s individual epee.

A gold medal for the men’s team was also won by him at the 2016 European Fencing Championship in Torun, Poland.

World Fencing Championships

In 2006 in Turin, Italy, Grumier took part in the World Fencing Championship for the first time. He also took home a gold medal in fencing’s men’s team epee competition.

Then, in 2009, in Antalya, Turkey, for the World Fencing Championship, he won a silver medal for the men’s team epee.

He also took home two medals from the 2010 World Fencing Championship, which was held in his native France.
