American professional basketball player George Jesse Hill Jr. plays for the Milwaukee Bucks in the National Basketball Association.

Early Life & Family

NBA player George Hill was born to his father Tina Hill Woods in Indianapolis, Indiana, on May 4, 1986.

Hill was raised by his mother in Meridian Streets and achieved academic success at IUPUI and Broad Ripple High School.

The grandfathers of George Hill had never spoken to him. His parents had never met them because they were so dissimilar from their expectations.

Hill’s formative years as a boy growing up in inner-city Indianapolis were surrounded by that lost generation of males and the street life that can engulf towns across the country.

Thanks to professors like Edison, an older relative named Albert Germany, and several of his basketball coaches, Hill was able to stay on track while his peers were enticed into orbit by the attraction of easy money and street celebrity.

In the early 2000s, local coach Joseph Price maintained a constant presence and kept an eye on Hill.

Price made the approximately 40-minute drive to see the lithe, slinky point guard go up against Indianapolis’ best.

High School Career

When attending Broad Ripple High School, Hill, one of the “Magnificent Seven” of Indianapolis, flourished as one of the best high school athletes in the state.

In his junior year of high school, he faced off against Oden and Conley, and he recalled playing pick-up games with Gordon.

Hill’s 36.2 point per game average during his senior year is the fifth-best mark in Indiana High School Athletic Association history.

In 2008, the Jaguars were one game away from becoming eligible for the NCAA Tournament when they lost to Oral Roberts University of Tulsa. At that time, Hill was recognized as the Summit League Player of the Year.

College Career

Just a few months after he decided to enroll at IUPUI, his great-grandfather passed away, so he was unable to see Hill’s NCAA basketball career. Because he was reminded of his grandfather’s great advice to always follow his word, Hill chose IUPUI over other colleges.

The athlete led the IUPUI Jaguars to a tie for the league’s best record in his second season.

An injury prompted Hill to miss his third year at IUPUI, but the following year he returned and lead the Jaguars to a school-record 26 victories.

After losing to eventual champion Oral Roberts University in the Summit League Tournament finals, he too was unable to go to the NCAA tournament.

The Jaguars went 61-30 during Hill’s three seasons at IUPUI, except the 2006–07 season was cut short by injuries. Even though he still had one year of eligibility remaining, Hill declared himself available for the 2008 NBA draft in order to “test the waters.”

He left IUPUI as the fifth-highest scorer all-time with 1,619 points, and after Carlos Knox in 1997, he was the second player from that school to declare early.

Professional Career

When Hill was chosen 26th overall in 2008, he was the first player ever taken from IUPUI and the second first-round pick in Summit League history.

Hill spent his first three NBA seasons with the San Antonio Spurs before being dealt by the Indiana Pacers on June 23, 2011.

He spent time in San Antonio with current teammate Danny Green.

Hill played the next five seasons with the Pacers in exchange for Taurean Prince’s draft rights before being moved to Utah on July 7, 2016.

George played with Dave Joerger, who is currently the Sacramento Kings’ head coach, after signing a multi-year contract with them on July 10, 2017.

After being acquired in a trade on February 8, 2018, Hill spent less than a year with the Cleveland Cavaliers before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks on December 7.

In 2019, he was a free agent once more, and on July 8, he agreed to a new deal with the Bucks. He was transferred to the Oklahoma City Thunder on November 23, 2020, where he started the 2020–21 campaign.

Injury

Hill left the game against the New Jersey Nets on January 31, 2012, due to an ankle injury. According to the Pacers, there was only a tiny chip fracture.

He missed 12 games due to the injury before playing against the Charlotte Bobcats on February 22. On April 9, 2012, Pacers head coach Frank Vogel made the announcement that Hill would start in Collison’s place due to an injury.

He remained the starter for the duration of the season even after Collison returned from injury. Hill averaged 9.6 points per game and shot.442 percent of his field goals for the season.

Hill was hurt once more in 2014. However, he didn’t play in the first 28 games of the season before returning on December 23 against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Net Worth and Salary

According to CelebrityNetWorth, George Hill is thought to have a fortune worth $30 million.

According to Spotrac’s financial records, the point guard has made just over $94 million in compensation in the NBA; by the end of his deal with the Bucks, that amount will have increased to around $114 million.

George Hill, on the other hand, did not assemble his riches by accident. During his time on the floor, the point guard established himself as a good NBA player.

George Hill acquired an 850-acre ranch in central Texas with exotic animals thanks to a 13-year NBA career.

Hill married Samantha Garcia, his longtime partner and the mother of his children, in August 2018. There were many friends and teammates present, and the party was well attended.

Samantha, who was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on April 2, 1992, was raised in Los Fresnos, Texas. While representing the San Antonio Spurs, Hill first got to know Samantha.

Hill is the father of two children; Zayden Jaxon was born on January 16, 2016, and Zo Jessie was born on January 4, 2018.
