Heather Hardy

Heather Hardy is a professional boxer and MMA fighter from the United States. She held the WBO featherweight championship in boxing from 2018 to 2019. She also works as a trainer and resides in Brooklyn, New York.

Early Life, Parents, Siblings, Nationality, and Education

Heather Hardy, who found achievement through boxing, was born in Brooklyn, New York, in the United States of America to her parents John and Linda Hardy.

Hardy, like her two younger sisters, Kaitlyn and Colin, was raised by loving parents. Gerritsen Beach, in South Brooklyn, is where the sisters grew up.

Heather, on the other hand, is an American of Irish descent.

Heather completed her high school studies before enrolling in the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan.

She graduated at the age of 22 with a degree in Forensic Psychology. She excelled in sports as well as academics and aspired to be the first female pitcher for the New York Yankees.

Early Career

Heather’s revelation occurred in 2010, shortly after her divorce from her six-year husband, who was also her high school sweetheart.

Hardy struggled to provide for her small family because she was divorced, a single mother, and was not receiving child support.

Her worried sister then gave her a gift certificate for lessons at the guy. She was introduced to kickboxing and then boxing, which forever changed her life.

Similarly, Heather competed in a kickboxing competition just three weeks after learning “to lace up her gloves.” Within 11 months, Hardy had risen to the position of the top amateur boxer in the United States.

Her first fight, and the time she spent inside the ring, mean a lot to her. It was her transformation from a shy girl to a strong woman in command of everything.

“I’m shy by nature, so walking to the ring was like heading to the gas chamber. I’m probably exaggerating the crowd size, but it felt like I was in the Macy’s parade.”

Heather further explained the situation,

“When I got to my corner, a cousin told me to pretend a tiger was dropped in the ring and only one of us was getting out alive. I pummeled that girl so bad. And for the first time in my life, I felt like something was all mine. Ever since I’ve had a passion for beating up the world. I still fight that way.”

Heather became a fan favorite due to her unwavering dedication and passion throughout her career. After all of that, Heather landed a televised gig on NBCSN in 2016 against Shelly Vincent.

Paving Her Way From Boxing to MMA

Heather gradually transitioned from boxing to mixed martial arts after nearly a decade of training.

It didn’t take long for her to fall in love with MMA after she had “won everything there was to win,” as Heather may have stated.

Furthermore, Hardy was scheduled to make her professional MMA debut at Invicta FC 21 against Brieta Carpenter.

Unfortunately, the match was canceled due to Carpenter’s previous match injury.

Despite this, Heather made her professional debut on June 24, 2017, at Bellator 180 as a flyweight against Alice Yauger.

The fight took place at Madison Square Garden, and she won with a TKO in the third round.

MMA, as thrilling as it is, is far harsher and more physically demanding than boxing. Those who are familiar with the setup will understand what we mean.

Hardy later recalled the fight, claiming that the kick was so powerful that she went temporarily blind. Heather was also spitting bone chunks out of her mouth.

Heather lives for that real thrill, even if the mere thought of it gives others nightmares.

Hardy was scheduled to face Ana Julaton at Bellator 194 on February 16, 2018. She was victorious by unanimous decision.

On June 14, 2019, Hardy discovered a fight with Taylor Turner at Bellator 222.

Personal Life, Dating, and Husband

Heather’s personal life is the only topic left after we leave her professional career. And, as previously stated, we are already aware that she is divorced.

Hardy hasn’t said much about her ex-husband other than that he was her high school sweetheart. Similarly, the two lovebirds married shortly after their graduation in 2004.

Sadly, nobody is aware of his name or any other details regarding this mystery, man. It might be because the two aren’t together anymore. In 2010, following six years of marriage, the couple got divorced.

A daughter named Annie was also born to Heather and her ex-husband during their union. Hardy spoke about how she struggled after her divorce because her ex-husband did not pay child support.

However, Heather’s situation has changed significantly. She is a self-sufficient and capable woman. But she has yet to settle down and live a married life.

Despite this, this lovely lady has continued to date. She dated Devon Cormack in her early MMA career, and he is the only one the public is aware of.

Her successful boxing career has netted her a fortune. As per the report, her net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
