Is Wendy Williams Show returning?
However, on Monday, October 18, in the year 2021, The Wendy Williams Show returned, but with a twist. Because of Wendy’s inability for appearing on the show, various guest hosts have taken her place throughout the season.
Similarly, the show made an announcement on Thursday, September 30, stating Williams had a breakthrough case of Covid-19 despite being vaccinated.
“Wendy will not be returning with new shows on October 4. She has been and continues to be under a doctor’s care and is still not ready to return to work.”
Moreover, they added,
“Wendy continues to be under medical supervision and meets with her medical team on a daily basis. She is making progress but is experiencing serious complications as a direct result of Graves’ Disease and her thyroid condition.”
As the show further added,
“It has been determined that more time is needed before she is able to return to her live hosting duties. As soon as she’s ready, she will be back in her treasured purple chair. We want her health to be her top priority.”
Similarly, the Covid-19 diagnosis came just days before Wendy was taken to the hospital for “psychiatric services”.
Who is replacing Williams?
Though without Wendy Williams, the show is been running since October 2021. Similarly, the show is running with fan-favorite guest hosts including Michael Rapaport, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, and Sherri Shepherd filling in.
Likewise, the official Instagram account of Wendy Williams Show announced on Tuesday that Sherri Shepherd will be taking over Williams’ time slot on FOX.
Moreover, Shepherd also announced the news and said she’s long dreamed of having her own TV show on her Instagram account.

In addition, she said,
“Thank you everyone for making this dream of hosting my own talk show come true!”
However, fans have mixed feelings about the news. Moreover, Williams’ followers are sad to see the longtime host leaving the purple chair after 13 years.
Further, they have also shared on Instagram writing “they are going to miss Wendy” and the “end of an era.” On the other hand, some congratulated Shepherd, writing that her new role is “so well deserved.”

Is she coming back to television?
On November 23, the announcement was made that frequent guest host Sherri Shepherd will be the host. Similarly, this means that Wendy William is not returning.
Likewise, David Perler stated on the news of Shepherd’s guest host stint,
“Sherri is a great fit for the show and she engages with our viewers with her relatable conversations and unique point of view on the hottest topics.”
Perler also added,
“We’re very happy to welcome her back and can’t wait to see what she’ll bring to our viewers and station partners this time around.”
However, it is still unknown when she will be returning to the show due to her ongoing health problems. Similarly, according to a source close to the show, Wendy Williams will “never” be returning.
What did she say about her return to TV?
Likewise, on March 17, 2022, during an appearance on Good Morning America, Wendy stated that she plans on returning to her show in three months. Similarly, some reports have questioned whether she is suffering from early onsets of dementia.
However, Wendy’s brother, Tommy quickly shut them down by saying,
“I try to make it up there and my dad speaks with Wendy frequently. So no, we don’t have any concerns concerning her mental state. It’s all physical.”
Furthermore, he added,
“We haven’t had any alerts like that and I haven’t seen anything like that or have had conversations with her that would lead me to believe that.”
On the other hand, on November 8, 2021, William gave an update on her Instagram account. Likewise, she promises that she will return to her beloved purple chair in due time.

Moreover, she said,
“As everyone knows, my health has been a hot topic,” she began her update. “I’m making progress but it’s just one of those things that are taking longer than we expected. I’m a woman of a certain age, and I know enough to listen to my doctors and will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree I’m ready.”
Wendy also added,
“I want to thank all of my staff and our guest hosts for stepping up and stepping in while I can’t be there. I also want to thank Debmar-Mercury and our stations for being so understanding and supportive while I work my way back.”
In addition, William concluded by thanking her fans,
“Most of all, I want to thank my fans. I have heard your prayers and comments and feel all the love! You are everything to me. I love spending my mornings with you all and I’m doing everything I can to get back to work, but right now Wendy has to focus on Wendy. I love you for watching.”

What disease does Wendy have?
In May, she took a break from her talk show due to health concerns surrounding her Graves’ disease. Similarly, a spokesperson for her show told People that Williams is dealing with “symptoms from her Graves’ disease, which is causing fatigue.”
Furthermore, the star has also claimed that she had suffered from Graves’ hyperthyroidism 19 years ago. Wendy Williams also said that,
“I feel a hundred percent better than I was a few months ago. I had a storm going in my body is the best way I can explain it.”
Moreover, she added,
“It came from me neglecting my six-month endocrinology appointment. I have Graves’ disease and hyperthyroidism. If you have one you don’t necessarily have to have the other, but I have both, and I was diagnosed with both 19 years ago”
