Ivana Spanovic, a Serbian long jumper, is the current European champion as well as a two-time World indoor champion.

At the IAAF Outdoor World Championships in 2013, Vuleta became the first Serbian track and field athlete to take home a medal.

Early Life, Family, and Education

Ljubia Spanovic, the champion’s devoted father, and sporty mother Vesna Spanovic gave birth to Ivana Spanovic. Ivana’s mother was also a long jumper and a well-known athlete in her day.

Spanovic was likewise drawn to her mother’s sport and eventually became what she is now.

Similarly, Ivana’s schooling and education remain unclear, however, we do know some details about her youth.

She was a great Avril Lavigne fan, and one of her friends gave her the CD. She enjoyed all of her songs as a child.

After winning the world junior title in 2008, Ivana received a small girlie automobile named a Citroen C1. She instantly developed an attachment to it as she had just started driving then.

During her younger days, the world champion liked experimenting with her hair. She shaved part of her head but afterward regretted it and claimed to have had a chaotic upbringing.

Ivana enjoyed karate as a child. She trained for two years alongside her older brother and achieved the green belt level.

Karate was discontinued primarily because of her brother’s departure.

Spanovic was born on May 10, 1990, making her 32 in 2022. She is also 5’9″ tall, which adds to her allure (175cm).

Furthermore, the world champion weighs around 63 kg, which is an ideal height-to-weight ratio for an athlete like herself.

Ivana has a lovely complexion that we can describe as a brunette. She has a stunning set of black eyes and flowing black hair.

European Indoor Champion

Ivana is the reigning long jump champion, having won both the European and World Championships. She won gold medals at the World Junior Championships in 2008 and the Summer Universiade in 2009.

Ivana also participated in the following round of the 2008 Olympic Games.

Following that, Ivana was named the country’s Best Young Athlete. As a result, she finished second at the 2007 World Youth, European Junior, and European U23 Championships.

Similarly, she qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Not only that, but Ivana also broke the new national record of 6.82 meters. The Serbian Olympic Committee named her the best female athlete of the year.

Later that year, she finished third at the World Indoor Championships but second at the European Outdoor Championships and the IAAF Continental Cup.

Ivana took silver in the long jump at the Diamond League race.

Ivana Spanovic’s First win

She won her first major title as a high-level athlete in 2015 when she won the European indoor championship. Ivana set a new state record of 6.98 meters there.

She also won another bronze medal at the World Outdoor Championships. All of this happened to her as Spanovic improved her national record twice: first in qualification (6.91) and again in the finals (7.01 got two times).

Ivana went on to win silver in the long jump at the 2015 Diamond League race. As a result, the Serbian Olympic Committee declared her the best female athlete of the year.

Spanovic set a new national record, one of only a few that year. So we can definitely say that 2016 was a very good year for Vesna’s daughter.

Injuries In Leagues

However, pain and injuries are all too common in the lives of athletes. Spanovic was injured, so she only competed in two Diamond League conferences during the offseason.

Similarly, Ivana dominated the early stages of the competition. Nonetheless, she finished fourth in her last attempt.

Following that, Ivana won the 2017 Diamond League race in the long jump for the second time.

Spanovic’s presentation was thrilling to watch during the European Championships qualification round. However, a wound in that round forced her to surrender and protect her designation.

When it comes to the injury, it was to the Achilles tendon. Unfortunately, it forced Ivana to drop her final-season role.

Despite being injured earlier in the summer, Ivana won gold in the championship.

This Serbian champion suffered numerous injuries throughout the summer. As a result, she was forced to withdraw from the World Championships in Doha.

Furthermore, Ivana suffered a metatarsal bone break in June 2020. Because of that incident, she decided to leave the season. As a result, Ivana only played one game in Novi Sad that season.

Net Worth and Salary

The former world champion earns a lot of money from her professional career. Brand endorsement and deals are two other sources of income.

Ivana currently represents the brands Red Bull and Nike. Her net worth is estimated to be $10 million.

The Serbian athlete is currently engaged to Marko Vuleta. Marko works as a personal trainer and nutritionist.

However, this is not Ivana’s first marriage. The long jumper received her first engagement ring from her then-boyfriend, Vladimir, in 2014.

It lasted a decade before they decided to end it. The couple is said to be on good terms following their divorce.

Ivana and Marko, on the other hand, got engaged a few years ago. The couple will tie the knot on October 1, 2021. Belgrade hosted the Fairytale wedding.

For the time being, the couple does not have children because they are both focused on their careers. They may, however, be planning something, and we may hear about it soon.
