Early Life, Parents & Education

Gary Jones and Jayne Ferguson welcomed Jade into the world at Bodelwyddan, Wales, in the United Kingdom.

She grew up in a home with her two older brothers, Luke and James. Jade has always participated in boy-on-boy boxing competitions and street fights. Jade and her father Gary, a former mover, used to lift heavy objects.

Growing up with two brothers, she had some rough and tumble experiences. The person who opposes and supports her the most is Jade’s grandfather, Martin Foulkes.

The rest of the family would claim she is special but unlucky because she doesn’t do well in different games, while her grandfather would say she has been bad straight up.

Jade attended Flint High School in her hometown until she turned 16. She eventually quit going to school because she could concentrate so effectively on her martial arts training.

She began competing for the GB Taekwondo Academy in Manchester as her first Taekwondo trivia team in 2012 after enrolling there.

Body Measurements: Age, Height & Weight

Jones’ birthday is on March 21 and she was born in 1993. Therefore, in 2022, she will be 29 years old. She was born under the sign of Aries, and her birth flower is the jonquil and daffodil.

She weighs 57 kg and is 167 centimeters tall (126 lb). Jade is an athlete, thus she has a fantastic figure and a fit body.

Tokyo Olympics 2020 & Retirement

After failing in her first attempt, Jade had to fight back tears as she walked into the Makuhari Masse Hall in an effort to become the first British woman to win gold at three consecutive Olympic games.

In an interview, she admitted that after the loss, her emotions had been on an emotional roller coaster and that she had been trying to feel better rather than worse. The game was already ended, and she wished she could have added more, but she had already learned her lesson.

Jade admitted that her whole focus is on winning and the thrill of taking the stage as the national anthem is playing. At this point in her career, she will accept nothing less than gold.

Tokyo 2020 had challenges for Jade as well. Up until two hours prior to the bout, she was unaware of her opponent. Because of this, she put a lot of pressure on herself.

Her family and the crowd were also gone because COVID encouraged her and helped her conquer her phobia.

She had previously stated that she intended to take some time off and decide what to do next, including whether she wants to aim for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which would occur in just three years, as opposed to the customary four-year break caused by the Tokyo Olympics’ one-year postponement due to Covid, which would normally occur.

Relationship Status

Former Taekwondo champion Jordan Gayle is dating Jade Jones.

She lives with her partner Jordan, Bianca Walkden, a fellow Olympian in taekwondo, and Aaron Cook, Bianca’s fiance and another taekwondo athlete.
