Jami Thompson
American professional basketball player JaMychal Green plays for the National Basketball Association’s Golden State Warriors.
Green began his professional career in the G League and abroad before committing to the Spurs for his first NBA deal in 2015.
Early Life, and Family
JayMachal Green was conceived by Rita and Alonzo Green. Green grew up in a big family with eight siblings on his father’s side and twelve on his mother’s.
In 1992, JaMychal’s sibling was slain when he was just two years old. The athlete at the time was unaware. Moreover, his departed sibling had two children.

The 6′ 11″ athlete and his nephews are currently establishing the JaMychal Green Foundation in Montgomery. The organization run by the Green family is to educate, motivate, and inform young people.
His sister, who also has a Ph.D., is an education specialist with the Alabama State Department of Education.

Early Career
Green had over 2,500 points in high school and was a member of St. Jude’s National Honor Society.
He received several honors throughout his tenure in high school, including the 2008 McDonald’s All-American, the 2008 Mr. Basketball title in Alabama, and three “Player of the Year” awards from the Alabama Sportswriters Association (2006, 2007, and 2008).
Additionally, Anthony Grant, who later became the head coach of Alabama, coached Green as the United States under-18 representative at the 2008 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship in Argentina.
College Career
On August 23, Green chose Alabama over Ole Miss as his college of choice. As a freshman, Green led all SEC first-year students in rebounding with 7.9 per game while averaging 11.6 points per game. With one exception, Green started each of The Capstone’s 32 games.
The athlete finished second in the SEC with five double-doubles, including four straight victories over Georgia, Vanderbilt, Florida, and Mississippi State.
Both the collegeinsider.com Freshman All-American and Freshman All-SEC teams unanimously selected him.
During his sophomore season, Green finished ninth in the SEC in rebounds and sixteenth in scoring (17.4). (14.1).
After defeating No. 15 Michigan, scoring on a put-back dunk with 5.4 seconds left, and preventing Michigan from completing the game-tying shot with seconds left, he was chosen for the 2009 Old Spice Classic all-tournament team.
Green’s effort in a win over Mercer, which featured 27 points and 13 rebounds, earned him the title of SEC Player of the Week.

Professional Career
JaMychal, who went undrafted in the 2012 NBA draft, signed with the San Antonio Spurs for the NBA Summer League in 2012. On October 22, 2012, he signed a contract with the Spurs, but on October 26, the organization released him.
The athlete was acquired by the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League on November 1 to serve as an affiliate player for San Antonio.
In 44 games for the Toros in 2012–13, he averaged 8.3 rebounds, 12.3 points, and 1.3 assists per contest. In July 2014, the athlete signed with the San Antonio Spurs to participate in the NBA Summer League.
On August 6, 2014, he signed a contract with the Spurs, however, on October 25, 2014, the organization once again released him. On November 1st, he was acquired by the Austin Spurs.
NBA Teams
Prior to going back to Austin, Green rejoined the NBA, signing a 10-day deal with the Memphis Grizzlies on February 2, 2015.
He signed a second 10-day deal with the Grizzlies on February 19, then on March 2, he inked a multi-year agreement. He joined the Grizzlies once more for the 2015–16 campaign, where he started the season off the bench.

Following the All-Star break, his playing time increased as a result of numerous injured teammates. On March 6, 2016, he recorded a then-career-high 17 points in a defeat to the Phoenix Suns.
On March 9, he had a career-high 13 rebounds and 17 points in a loss to the Boston Celtics. In a 121-114 overtime victory two days later, he set a career-high with 21 points and ten rebounds.
Injury
JaMychal started the first two games of the 2018–19 season, but the broken jaw forced him to miss the next 12 contests.
He was assigned a reserve spot on December 7 after returning to the lineup, and in a 107-103 victory over the Pelicans, he scored a season-high 24 points.
Green contributed 24 points and 11 rebounds in a 112-108 loss to the Miami Heat on January 12.
