Jason Witten, a former tight end for American football. He took part in 17 seasons of NFL football, most of them with the Dallas Cowboys.

College Career

In 2000, Witten was given the scholarship to attend the University of Tennessee, where defensive end coach Phillip Fulmer made an employment offer to Witten.

The Dallas Cowboys selected Witten in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft (69th overall). At the age of 20, he successfully entered the league as a rookie player.

He played in 15 games as a rookie, starting seven of them. On September 7, he made his NFL debut against the Atlanta Falcons.

He had to miss a game as a rookie after fracturing his jaw against the Arizona Cardinals and requiring major surgery. Despite the injuries, he continued to play and concluded his rookie season with 35 receptions for 347 yards and a touchdown.

With 87 catches, Witten enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2004, dominating the NFC.

On November 15, he had nine catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns against the Philadelphia Eagles.

And as a result of his triumph, he was selected for the first Pro Bowl. He maintained his position in the 2005–06 season and was chosen for the Pro Bowl each year while averaging 60 receptions throughout three seasons.

When Witten shattered his previous record in 2007 and finished third among tight ends in NFL history with 96 receptions, it was the most meaningful season of his career.
