Jeffrey Marshall Foxworthy is an American actor, novelist, comedian, producer, and writer. He also writes and produces. He’s on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour alongside Ron White, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy.

Early Life, and Education

Jeffrey Marshall Foxworthy was born on September 6, 1958, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Jimmy and Carol Foxworthy.

His father was an executive who worked at IBM. After graduating from Hapeville High School, Foxworthy enrolled at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, but he departed before finishing his degree.

For the next five years, he assisted his father in mainframe computer repair at IBM.

Because he was always telling jokes at work, his coworkers pushed him to take part in the Great Southeastern Laugh-off competition at the Punchline comedy club in Atlanta. Furthermore, he competed in the 1984 competition, took first place, and then quit to pursue a comedic career.

Career

The 1993 hit song “You Might Be a Redneck If,” which started the “You Might Be a Redneck” fad, is possibly Foxworthy’s most well-known creation.

Furthermore, Foxworthy’s 1993 release of an album with the same name topped the charts.

Foxworthy has six comedy CDs to his name, making him the most successful comic recording artist of all time. Moreover, Foxworthy’s “Games Rednecks Play” (1995) won the Grammy for Best Spoken Comedy Album in 1996.

Reruns of the series aired on CMT and Nick at Night in 2005 and 2006. Foxworthy issued the album “Totally Committed” in 1998.

The Blue Collar Comedy Tour helped Foxworthy gain new followers at the start of the new millennium. Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Ron White, Larry the Cable Guy, and went on the road for three years.

The Blue Collar Comedy Tour had only 20 performances scheduled at first, but due to its popularity, it continued for three years. Foxworthy’s television series Blue Collar TV made its debut on the WB in 2004.

In 2006, CMT decided to continue airing “Blue Collar TV,” and a second season of the show followed.

In the summer of 2013, he served as the host of “The American Baking Competition,” a one-season food reality competition series.

Writing Career

Pamela Gregg and Foxworthy first met at the Atlanta comic club Punchline.

On September 18 of that year, 1985, they were wed. Their daughters Jordan and Julianne were born to them.

Furthermore, Foxworthy’s comedy was influenced by his childhood. He claims that his father has a “typical redneck sense of humor.” His father and his uncle Jimmy acted as the ventriloquist and his dummy, respectively.

Foxworthy injured his nose when he tried to jump from a moving pickup truck into a bale of hay when he was 17 years old.

Moreover, In multiple interviews, Foxworthy has stated that the term “redneck” was used to describe him, which led to the creation of his “You Might Be a Redneck If… act.”

Internet allegations regarding the death of Foxworthy’s daughter Jordan first appeared in 2010. Jordan worked as an assistant on the 2016 movie “Sully,” and in the 2019 tribute to her father, “Jeff Foxworthy: Stand Up Guy,” she made an appearance as herself.

Foxworthy debuted The Foxworthy Countdown in April 1999, according to Mediabase.
