On the 7th of July, 1966, James Christopher Gaffigan was born in Elgin, Illinois. His parents are Michael A. Gaffigan, a banker and the former president and CEO of the Mercantile National Bank of Indiana, and Marcia Mitchell, a charity worker, and fundraiser.
He is the sixth child in a family of six, and he and his siblings were all raised in Chesterton, Indiana. His mother passed away from cancer in 1990, and his father from the same disease in 1999.
Gaffigan frequently viewed comic programs like “Saturday Night Live” when he was a teenager. The book is a collection of writings concerning the author’s childhood and the parenting of his children. In June 2013, Gaffigan agreed to write a second volume of humorous essays for Crown Publishing. In 2014, the book “Food: A Love Story” was released in the fall.
