Joseph Scott Galloway is an ESPN analyst and former professional football player from the United States.

Early Life and Family

Joseph Scott Galloway, better known as “Joey Galloway,” is a former American football player. He has been a wide receiver in the NFL since his draft in 1995. This outstanding player was born in Bellaire, Ohio, in the United States.

Similarly, he is the son of James and Carolyn Galloway, the details of which are unknown to the media. His siblings are similarly affected.

Galloway received his education at Bellaire High School in his hometown of Bellaire, Ohio. Joey later attended Ohio State University, where he also played football.

Age and Height

Only passion and determination fall short when it comes to becoming a professional. In some ways, every athlete must be physically and mentally fit. Joey, too, was born with speed and agility. His tall stature of 5 feet 11 inches (180 cm) also helped a lot.

Galloway also weighed 89 kg (197 lbs) and had a well-built body. Galloway also had control over his body movements due to his years of training and running around the field.

Joey appears to be able to run a yard and more even after retirement. It’s difficult to believe this legend is already 49 years old.

Early Football Career

When it came to football, Joey had been playing since his high school days at Bellaire High School. Galloway caught 52 passes for 1208 yards and eight touchdowns his senior year.

Aside from basketball, Joey was an All-Ohio selection and won the state championship in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes in track.

Joey enrolled at Ohio State after graduating and continued playing football, where he received numerous honors. Galloway also finished in the top five in many of Ohio State’s receiving records.

Galloway also caught 47 passes for 946 yards and tied Cris Carter for a school-record 11 touchdowns in his junior year.

Galloway’s outstanding play earned him First-Team All-Big Ten Conference honors as a junior. Galloway finished his senior year with 44 receptions for 769 yards and seven touchdowns.

Joey finished his college career fourth in career receptions with 108 and receiving yards with 1,494; and second in touchdown receptions, just behind Cris.

Professional Career

Joey was drafted without a doubt after his outstanding junior and senior years at Ohio State. The Seattle Seahawks selected him eighth overall in the 1995 NFL Draft, as expected.

Galloway set rookie season records with 97 receptions, 1,067 receiving yards, and three 100-yard games upon his arrival.

Not to mention, Galloway was a successful punt returner, returning 36 punts for 360 yards and a touchdown.

Similarly, Galloway began his second season by leading the team in receptions (57), receiving yards (987), and touchdowns (seven).

He also had 72 receptions for 1,049 yards and 12 touchdowns the following year. Joey had ten receiving touchdowns that year, his second consecutive year in double figures. Galloway finished the season with 65 receptions for 1,047 yards.

However, Joey only appeared in eight games during the 1999 season due to a contract dispute and a 101-day strike. Galloway was only able to make 22 receptions for 335 yards and one touchdown after his return.

Galloway finished his Seahawks career with 238 receptions for 4,457 yards and 37 touchdowns in 71 games.

Career Progression with other teams

The Cowboys were looking for a competent wide receiver to compensate for the loss of their quarterback, Troy Alkman, and Michael Irvin, who was on the verge of retirement after suffering a career-ending injury.

As a result, Galloway joined the team and became the league’s second-highest-paid wide receiver at the time.

Similarly, Joey joined forces with Raghib Ismail in the hopes of steering the Cowboys in the right direction. Galloway only played one game in his rookie season due to an ACL tear in his left knee against the Philadelphia Eagles.

But the following year, he bounced back and started all 16 games, finishing second on the team in receptions. He also had 72 receptions, 699 yards receiving, and three touchdowns.

Galloway was well-prepared for the 2002 season, appearing in all 16 games and recording 61 receptions for 908 yards and six touchdowns.

Furthermore, Joey led the NFL with a 19.8 yards-per-catch average the following year, catching 34 passes for 672 yards and two touchdowns. Joey finished his Dallas career with 151 receptions for 2,341 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Personal Life

Joey, on the other hand, appears to be aware of this and has kept his personal life private! Yes, Galloway could be single right now, but we have no proof or evidence.

Similarly, there are no previous records of him dating anyone. He was also one of those players who avoided malicious rumors. Joey deserves every bit of respect and acclaim for keeping his personal life out of the spotlight.

However, on August 14, 2015, the quiet football player announced the birth of his first child. He simply stated, “I’m a Dad now!” in a tweet.

Galloway surprised his fans and followers with just four words. But he was careful not to reveal too much information about his wife and child.

Net Worth and Income

Joey Galloway’s net worth is currently estimated to be $10 million. Similarly, his earnings for the 2004 season were estimated to be around $6.31 million. And we are confident that the amount has only increased over time.

Galloway, now 48, has long since retired from professional football and pursued a career in television. He is currently working as an ESPN college football analyst.

Galloway’s annual salary as an analyst was reported to be around $100,000. And we are confident that with time and effort, it will grow to be much more.
