WWE
Additionally, Johnny signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2006.
As a result, Johnny joined the (DSW) Deep South Wrestling development area.

On February 15, 2007, Johnny and Robert Anthony defeated The Headliners for their first DSW victory after losing for the next few weeks.

The team competed against the DSW Tag Team Champions Team Elite on March 15, 2007, but they were unable to win the championship.
After losing his first two singles matches, Johnny returned to the sport, and on April 12, 2007, he defeated Frankie Coverdale to win his last game in DSW.

Breezango
Additionally, Johnny and Goldust competed in the WWE Tag Team Championship number one contender’s tournament on the April 14, 2017, episode of SmackDown.
A match between Johnny and Goldust and R-Truth and Tyler Breeze on the May 12th episode of SmackDown had an odd outcome when Johnny and Breeze turned on their partners, who refused to engage in combat.
Curtis also joined Breeze, taking the moniker “Breezango,” and once more became the villain.
On July 24, 2017, at Battleground, Breezango defeated The Usos after being selected by SmackDown during the WWE draft for Breeze and Curtis.
Breezango’s victory over The Vaudevillains on SmackDown Live’s November 8th, 2017, episode helped Team SmackDown qualify for the 10-on-10 Survivor Series Tag Team Elimination match at Survivor Series.
Similar to how Breezango defeated The Ascension on April 25, 2017, in the SmackDown Live episode, they are now the top contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
Injury
On July 6, 2019, Johnny’s left labrum in his shoulder tore, forcing him to miss at least six months of work.
On the July 31st, 2019, episode of NXT, Curtis made his comeback from the injury and protected his tag team partner Tyler Breeze from a post-match attack by The Forgotten Sons.
With another injury forcing him to sit out in December, Curtis revealed that he had undergone Ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, with a six to twelve month recovery time.
Likewise, Curtis made a comeback on the NXT episode airing on June 3, 2020, joining forces with Breeze to defeat Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch, and The Undisputed Era in a match for the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Similarly, Breezango defeated Imperium to win the titles on the August 26th, 2020 NXT episode. This was Curtis’s first title in WWE, almost ten years after his NXT debut.
On the October 21 NXT episode, Breezango lost the titles to Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan, ending their reign after 56 days.
