Johnny Depp is all ready to direct his first film 25 years about an Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani after Amber Heard’s trial!
Earlier this Summer, Johnny Depp won a legal victory in the Amber Heard trial. Few months after he is all ready to be a director of the movie based on the artist Amedeo Modigliani.
This is his second big project after the case, the first one being signed for a cologne advertisement for Millions of dollars. The 59-year-old star is said to co-produce the movie after 25 years with Al Pacino and Barry Navidi.
“The saga of Mr. Modigliani’s life is one that I’m incredibly honored and truly humbled to bring to the screen,” Johhny made a statement in the interview.
Johnny said that the movie is going to be based on Modigliani’s life and he is grateful to be a part of it and bring it to the cinemas.
He also said that the movie is about the hardships in life but eventually everything will be back to normal it will be fine. Hard times/ good times, it doesn’t last long. This will be the movie that people can actually relate to.
“It was a life of great hardship but eventual triumph — a universally human story all viewers can identify with.”
The movie is going to be so huge that it will be listed for Oscar and Depp did a deep dig on directing this movie after 25 years. Before that, in 1997 he directed a movie name “The Brave” where he starred himself and Marlon Brando.
The movie will be based on the 1980 play by Dennis Mclntyre with the same name “Modigliani”. The screen was shared by Jerzy and Mary Kromolowski.
He will be telling the story of the artistic period in Paris in 1916. The play follows the painter and the sculptor during the 48 hours of conflict in Paris. The artist is not able to sell his work and is struggling.

In the Spring of 2023, the project is expected to start in Europe. Depp is definitely going to direct the movie but then he will also be co-producing with Al Pacino and Barry Navidi.
During the interview, Navidi added that the project is very close to Pacino. He only introduced Navidi to the play and he fall in love with it.
“This project has been very close to Al’s heart. Al introduced me to the play, Modigliani, many years ago and I instantly fell in love with it,”

Navidi also said that it is a slice of Modigliani’s life and it is not a biography. It was his dream to work with Depp again in his life. Navidi believes that Depp is going to be a great asset to the screen.
“This is a slice of Modi’s life and not a bio. It’s been a dream of mine to work with Johnny again – he’s a true artist with an amazing vision to bring this great story to the screen.” Navidi further added.
It is still in suspense whether we will see Depp as the star cast in the movie. He is directing as well as co-producing.
