Johnny Depp got into tears after his fans showed so much love to him at the premiere of this year’s Cannes Film Festival. He got a seven-minute standing ovation too.
Johnny Depp is overwhelmed by his fan’s love and support despite the backlash about his appearance. On Tuesday night, he attended the premiere of the drama, “Jeanne Du Barry” where many people showed love for him. He also received a seven-minute standing ovation at this year’s Cannes Film Festival on the same day. Seeing so much love, Johnny Depp became emotional as many people cheered for him as King Louis XV.
Similarly, Depp was in tears and waved at his fans and well-wishers from the balcony inside the Grand Theatre Lumiere. Despite his controversy with his ex-wife, Amber Heard Johnny was overwhelmed by the love of his audience.
However, there were some people who were not happy seeing Johnny Depp at the premiere after his defamation case. Likewise, before receiving a seven-minute-long standing ovation from the audience, he hasn’t shown his appearance publicly in the media. This was the first time seeing Johnny publicly.

In the premiere of the drama, “Jeanne Du Barry”, the director, Maiwenn also broke into tears seeing so much love for them by the people. She plays the role of the king’s lover crying while talking in the mic. She stated,
“I want to share this moment with my lover, with my producer, with Le Pacte. It was a production that was difficult to finance … and I want to share this moment with all my team across the theater.”
Even though Johnny Depp won the defamation case against Amber Heard as he was accused of abuse some people still hate him for this reason. Still, some are supporting Amber Heard, especially her friends. She is living with journalist, Eve Barlow in Spain.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard first met each other on the set of the film, “The Rum Diary”. Though both of them were in a relationship with their own partners they found some chemistry between them. So, after breaking up with each other’s partners they began dating secretly. The former dup tied the knot in the year 2015 in a private island memory. But their relationship didn’t go smoothly as they separated after 15 months.

Amber Heard filed a divorce against Johnny making allegations of domestic violence which Depp didn’t agree. Things turned ugly when they both started putting allegations against each other of physical, mental, and emotional torture.
After all the legal processes Johnny Depp won the case against Amber and all the allegations made against him were proved wrong. But there are still some supporters of Heard who were very unhappy seeing Depp in the premiere at the Cannes Festival.
Moreover, Cannes director, Thierry Fremaux also faced problems for including Johnny in the festival despite the controversy. But he said in a statement,
“I don’t know about the image of Johnny Depp in the U.S. To tell you the truth, in my life, I only have one rule: It’s the freedom of thinking, and the freedom of speech and acting within a legal framework.”

In addition, Fremaux also stated,
“If Johnny Depp had been banned from acting in a film, or the film was banned, we wouldn’t be here talking about it. This [controversy] came up once the film was announced at Cannes because everybody knew Johnny had made a film in France…I’m the last person to be able to discuss all this”
Not only this, but he also added that he is not interested in this drama and also said, “I don’t know what it’s about. I also care about Johnny Depp as an actor”.
