Due to recurring pain in his right elbow, Manziel was declared out for the rest of the preseason on August 27. After starting quarterback Josh McCown was injured in the first half of the New York Jets game on September 13, Manziel entered the game.

The Tennessee Titans, headed by 2014 Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, were defeated 28–14. Manziel returned to the game after McCown suffered a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter of a Week 7 game against the St. Louis Rams.

Johnny completed 4 of 5 passes for 27 yards in the game, which concluded in a 24-6 loss. Similarly, McCown returned in the 8th Week game against the Arizona Cardinals after suffering another injury.

Manziel was fired from the NFL in early February, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport and ESPN’s Pat McManamon, and Johnny was then investigated for domestic violence.

As a result, despite their “expectations for our players on and off the field,” the Browns fired him on March 11.

Memphis Express

Manziel was arrested for disorderly behavior, failure to show identification, and possession of a false driver’s license on June 29, 2012, when he was 19 years old.

According to police accounts, Manziel was driving his companion home late at night when the altercation began, but it quickly escalated into a street brawl after he was provoked by another man.

When the cops arrived, Johnny presented them with a fake Louisiana driver’s license, claiming to be 21 years old.
