The company promoted penny stocks and engaged in “pump and dump” stock sales, which deceived numerous investors.

A false and deceptive positive statement is used to artificially inflate the price of an owned stock in a practice known as “pump and dump.” so that you can resell the stock you bought on the cheap for more money.

He soon started making millions of dollars from the stock market, which allowed him to live a luxurious lifestyle.

He adopted a lifestyle that included throwing extravagant parties and used narcotics heavily for recreation, primarily “Methaqualone” (supplied to him under the brand name “Quaalude”), which led to his severe addiction.

The company also once employed over 1000 stockbrokers and took part in stock issues worth more than $1 billion.

Even the initial public offering for the shoe business Steve Madden Ltd. was mentioned. Stratton, however, became a focus of law enforcement throughout history because of this opulent fortune.

The National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) was constantly monitoring it, and in December 1996, Stratton Oakmont was removed due to allegations of money laundering and securities fraud.
