Jordan Edward Rodgers is a former college and professional American football quarterback and sports commentator from the United States.

Early Life

Rodgers was born and raised in Chico, California, and has two older brothers, Luke and Aaron Rodgers, who played quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. His parents are Edward Wesly Rodgers and Darla Leigh.

Jordan’s father is a chiropractor from Texas who was an offensive lineman for the Chico State Wildcats from 1973 to 1976.

Edward participated in football with his sons Aaron, Luke, and Jordan. He warned them not to party and drink in college or they would be bound in sports like he was.

The family later relocated to Beaverton, Oregon. However, the Rodgers family moved back to Chico in 1997, and Jordan attended Pleasant Valley High School.

He started at quarterback during his high school career and led the team to an 8-3-1 record as a senior. He was also talented in track and basketball.

Early Career

Jordan attended Butte College after high school, where he played quarterback. However, he was the backup quarterback, and the team went 12-0 to win the junior college national championship in 2008.

Jordan set the school record for the total offense the following year as a starter, passing for 19 touchdowns and 2219 yards. He also received academic honors.

After completing two years at BCC, he transferred to Vanderbilt University. He did, however, consider Western Kentucky University and the University of Kansas before deciding on VU.

Jordan began the 2011 season as the second-string quarterback and finished with seven starts. He completed 108 of 216 passes for 9 touchdowns and 1524 yards.

College Career

Jordan was an offensive co-captain in 2012. By starting 11 games, Rodger became the first quarterback to lead the Commodores to consecutive bowl appearances and a 9-4 record.

Furthermore, his quarterback statistics at Vanderbilt University were among the best in school history, with 2539 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 191 completions on 59.9 percent of his passes.

Rodgers also ran for one touchdown and threw two more in North Carolina State’s victory. Furthermore, it was the team’s seventh back-to-back victory of the season.

Rodgers helped the Commodores to an SEC record while playing for them. He was the primary quarterback for Jordan Matthews, the SEC’s leading wide receiver.

Matthews’ production skyrocketed after Rodgers took over as starting quarterback in 2011.

In 2012, they combined for 90 completions, and Matthews set the school record for receiving yards in a season with 1323.

Professional Teams

Jordan was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars following the 2013 NFL Draft. However, he was released on July 22, 2013.

Rodger was signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad on October 7, 2013, after the team released quarterback Josh Freeman.

Jordan remained on the practice squad for the rest of the season as Dan Orlovsky took over as backup and Mike Glennon took over as the starter.

In order to compete against Pat Devlin, the Miami Dolphins signed him on April 3, 2014. He was released by the Miami Dolphins on May 12, 2014.

On October 20, 2014, Rodgers was added to the BC Lions’ practice squad. He attended the team’s mini-camp after which he made his resignation known in April 2015.

Entertainment Industry

Jordan Rodger had a brief appearance in Pitch Perfect 2. He played a member of the Green Bay Packers in the film.

He appeared on The Bachelorette, which starred Joelle Fletcher and aired from May to August 2016. Jordan was a contestant and the season 12 winner of the show. Rodgers proposed to her, and they are now engaged.

In September 2018, it was announced that Fletcher and Rodgers would appear in a show that combines DIY home decor and reality television.

Kin web series Engaged with JoJo and Jordan was the title of the show. The couple hosted the CNBC reality show Cash Pad in July 2019.

The show is a hybrid of investment and house-flipping shows; additionally, the host collaborates with homeowners to turn their homes into short-term rentals.

On August 2, 2016, ESPN hired Rodgers as a college football analyst for SEC Now on the SEC Network.
